And, conversely, the only reason Karlsson (3rd in scoring and +16 since Christmas) is not (yet) in the Norris discussion is because he spent significant time playing with Phillips.

It's becoming very clear that if Methot was not injured we'd be in or close to a playoff spot and Karlsson would  be the odds-on favorite to win his second Norris.  AINFK.

The Karlsson Methot thing is a myth. He was still not fully recovered from injury

Yeah, right, after a year, then a full season, then a full summer, he just needed those 30 games to get back to normal.

Facepalm he didn't just magically start healing once he got away from ol' BIg Rig.

He didn't plau with phillips that much. Either way He wasn't playing good period. He was Dung. Pheonix was playing better well before Methot came back

He did play with Phillips quite a lot. And when the two of them were on the ice together he did a lot of skating around seemingly trying to cover both sides of the ice. It was almost comical. Probably tired him out too. You see him now, he may be on the ice 26 minutes but a significant amount of that time is spend standing in one spot and watching where the action is heading, then ZING! and he's up the ice with the puck and everyone's like "Huh, where did he come from?" That goal he score last game -- he started as the right-side defenseman and all of a sudden he is a left-winger on a partial breakaway. When playing with Phillips he was starting as the right-side defenseman and all of a sudden he is a left-side defenseman.

He was better with Boro than with Phillips, no question. Then Boro Andersoned his leg.

Yeah he clearly needed Methot three years ago

One thing's for sure, Condra is upping his value with his great play.

The Pageau, lazar and Condra line is fantastic.

Let me rephrase then, he needs a solid NHL Dman exactly like Methot. So, its Methot or you have to acquire a guy like him - which is clearly easier said than done.

Better the devil you know in Methot.

Stone picking Getzlaf's pocket on the PK was so sick.

Really hoping Ryan's ok.

Just a skate issue apparently.

I can't stop being impressed by Pageau right now. Hits like a 6'3" guy, has skill, hungry on the puck. Right now every time lazar, Pageau and Condra get on the ice they make things happen.

Stone continues to impress, so much to like.

Ryan's awesome.

Staying up late? I'm up this late most nights. Then up at 5:30. Ish.

Interesting Wiercioch-Ceci pairing there.

Sens win 4-2.  Wiercioch on the ice for 2 of the goals while not getting any assists.

Isn't it becoming obvious?  Ceci-Cowen are the only two D-men who are negative.  Ceci at -6 and Cowen at -13.   I'd bet Ceci would be positive if he was not playing side  by side with Cowen.  We'll see tonight.

Wow, was I off or what! Boro-Gryba +3 on the night.

Stone with another 2 takeaways (the only two the Sens got credited with).

Condra with the game-winner (might be his first GWG for all we know).

Hamm-and-eggs with his first NHL shutout, also the first goalie in Sens history to record his first three wins in consecutive team games. And his mom and dad were watching.

Now, Mike Brodeur came in a won 3 in a row (after the dodge ball in Central Park) then was pretty much never heard from again. I wouldn't mind keeping Hammond as the backup, trade Anderson.

They were on fire first shift. Then pffft. Certainly didn't help their cause that the refs were actually being fair to the Sens. Two in the bank. Prepare for the next game.

Funniest tweet of the night -- The Sens are appealing the Cowen suspension. They want to change the suspension to 28 games.

Ouch but true.
