If they gave him 4, 5 straight games and a consistent message lets see what he does then. The Sens group of 6 D men right now (minus Phillips) can be good to great one day, there's no need to make a move right now short of moving out of or both of Phillips and Methot.
Hopefully Wiercioch can settle in, though I'm not sold. You know Cameron will go back to Phillips next game though. Or I think he will.
Sounds likely to me:
"“It’s not a message because of his play by any means. Chris was benched because we have depth. He’s a big part of this organization but he’s one of the guys we have to rest,” said Cameron."
Made the right call, then decided to wimp out when describing his rationale. Disappointing.
It's called respecting a guy and not throwing him under the bus. Nothing to see here really. But it's not like you can bench him every game.
That's exactly what should happen from now until our next loss.
Oh sure that's cool, don't change the winning lineup. But I was just saying it's not like he's played his last game as a sen lol.
No, I don't think so either, altho' we do seem to be marching in that direction.
I just don't think there's anything wrong with saying he's got to be better. He does. He's been awful for weeks, and it's hurting us. Phillips is not going to get the right message if you tell him we're sitting him for any other reason than that. If DC said one thing in private and another in public, that's fine, I get that. But if the private and public message are the same, that's a problem.
