If the Blues are desperate enough to go for it and are comfortable with that core for a long time than Schwartz might be a guy you can get. It's a long shot but that's exactly the center and LH shot the Sens need, much in the same mold of an O'Reilly.

He is a left winger who can play C, but hasn't in years

Either way that's exactly the player you want (that type) in a Spezza deal. A guy who can come in, contribute right away, isn't close to his ceiling, and can play basically anywhere in the lineup if need be. That's on top of being a character player who plays the game the right way.

We might want to think about what wingers might be coming in because Spezza is likely staying due to his low salary and high cap hit to get this team to the floor.

Until the moves being made stop making sense I will reserve judgement on the budget.

Watch for a blockbuster with Nashville.

Greening, Lehner will make up for that

I don't know about you lot, but I really don't think he belongs in that group. Especially when you look at his 101-79-30 record.

Trotz has been dismissed... Probably ends up in Vancouver...

I don't think McLean goes anywhere after hearing today most of the Sens players like playing for him. One way to piss them off.. that's for sure. It should be how the PLAYERS feel about the coach... not how the fans.. or the Toronto media feel about them...

Most of the Dung about this team starts in the centre of the universe. Other than Bob MacKenzie.. what do the rest of them know?

Michallica wrote:To think, the red wings ended up with two more wins than the sens, and 1 more win than the caps and leafs....

As for the off season, that finish felt like the end of spezza and it's a fitting way to end. I see him and methot traded. I think they will try their best to sign hemsky. Would like to see michalek back as a third liner

That said, with stone and Zibanejad becoming more prominent, I'm worried the sens will have become very injury prone for next season.

One of those wins was off the botched call by the officials in the LA game. Remember puck hitting the netting and falling into the net in the last minute of the game? Not one official saw that.. Detroit should have lost that game and got 0 points..

It would have been really bad if Detroit did get in by just 1 or 2 pts.. and you could point back to that instance. A lot happens in a long NHL season but that really stands out.

I don't know why for the life of me.. that the GMs refuse to allow video review on disputed goals. It was put about 1-2 min onto a game.. at the most.. That wouldn't really matter..

the only thing he has won is AHL MVP

Not winning a world championship, world junior, etc. when you're a Canadian point per game career player is pretty sad

So him not winning anything doesn't have anything to do with whoever else was on the team with him?

wprager wrote:So Simmer@7 was asked on TGOR who, in his opinion, will stay and who will go.  Not who he *thinks* should go.  He basically said "Yes" (will stay) for all the players (including Kassian) and "No" for MacLean.

I have to stay I strongly disagree with him but, hey, who knows.

Simmer DOESN'T know... From what I heard mentioned today... the players enjoy playing for this coach... So piss them off by firing him? Doesn't make any sense to me.... I pay no attention to what Simmer says.

Same as Bobby Ryan will when the time comes. No biggie.

Bobby will re-sign in a few weeks. It's very rare that a rental acquired at the trade deadline re-signs before July 1.

I don't believe they he can resign until July 1st.  Can't even have official talks until then.

I think by July 2nd it'll be officially known that young Ryan intends to "test the waters."

He can't test the waters this year.. He has another year on his contract. He did say in his interview that he wants to get the contracts going ASAP... as allowed of course. He wants to stay here.. So over to you Mr. Cheapskate... I mean Mr. Melynk..

Goosebumps.

He fixes his defensive issues... this guy will be just miraculous.... as if he isn't now... What a treat to have him on the Sens..

Hemsky should test free agency, although there's a need for him here.  Michalek should sign a 2 year, 4 mil a year, but I doubt he does.

Keep Anderson unless he's being disruptive.

We don't need Hemsky or Michalek. That line is a huge liability IMO.

If Hemsky and Spezza are gone there is a huge need for a top 6 forward with some experience.

IF they are both gone.. the team takes a step back... IMO

Flo The Action wrote:finally heard the comments from spezza from this morning. those are not words from a guy, let alone a captain that is coming back. no way, no how that this is a guy that wants to be back. he's said all the right things so that he won't be booed or destroy if the sens go into next season with his last year but as of right now he does not want to be back and probably expects to be traded... see ya!

Gee I must have heard a different interview. I didn't get that from him...

Moving Spezza = addition by subtraction, can acquire another C or finally give the role to Zib.

Can always acquire another RW in trade as well, or just put Stone in there.

MacA=Turris-Ryan will be the line that teams will be hopefully worried about for years to come.
