Spezza might have requested a trade because he feels like the Sens are on a downward path...who knows for sure?  As we've said many times, we'll know for sure if we are unable to retain Ryan and MacArthur.  Then we're Cussed for good until Melnyk sells.

I wonder what Button's bosses at TSN feel about his comments on the Sens after they just paid a hell of a lot of money to get the TV rights.  

What a way to start off that relationship, pissing off the team.  I would think Button would not be very welcome at CTC.

I don't recall him saying that except in the context of him being 19.  But I suppose you see how he develops and if he's a top-six player in 2-3 years and you have Turris and Zibanejad as your 1-2, then maybe having Lazar as a winger is not that bad.  The kid's got wheels to go outside, too.

The quote is just noise. He doesn't actually say anything that could be proven. No one is going to rescind his media pass over this, and his bosses at TSN aren't going to be interested in this.

Obviously. Still, he doesn't say anything of substance. Saying that Alfie left because the Sens wouldn't pay him, then saying Spezza is leaving for "exactly" the same reason is nonsensical, and therefore doesn't deserve our attention.

Button is an idiot. No one can put up a point-per-game if they can't handle the pressure? Based on what? The guy makes no sense.
