He's getting some great reps right now, but you need a guy like Anderson there.

What's the harm if Lehner isn't quite ready for #1?  As long as you think he's OK to learn on the job next year wouldn't be such a bad year to lose a lot of games.  This year, without the 1RP was absolutely the worst time to suck, but what can you do 70+ games in.

I would absolutely move Anderson if we can get something decent in return, then roll the dice with Lehner and a competent backup.  Give April Reimer a call, ask her to come visit Ottawa for a weekend.  The tulips will be in soon enough.

Any year is a bad year to lose a lot of games. Has Edmonton taught you nothing? You're worse than Dash Riprock.

No, I'm not.  I'm not saying it's a good strategy, but as a fall-back position sucking next year is not as bad as sucking this year.

It's worse because it would be a 2nd year of sucking. Shame on you.

Hopefully Patty W gets a few games in a row.  I'm a big fan of his stretch passes.

Who was it that posted the Sens roster players with 60+ games who have fewer points than Wiercioch? May have been a tweet. Regardless, four Sens players with 60+ games have fewer points than Wiercioch with 42 games: Cowen, Phillips, Condra, Neil.

Kinda goes to show you how useless Condra has been. Phillips, with all the PP time he was getting, is just odd.

Sucking next year will be worse than sucking this year because it will mean we learned nothing from this year and obviously didn't address the current problems.

It will be different.

NEELY wrote:Anderson was ready to go yesterday as well.  Again they are questioning just what Anderson is willing to play through right now and if he is willing to battle for his team.  Everyone said he was fine in practice for the last week and 1/2 but Anderson wasn't "tracking the puck well".  That's mental and that's BS, he let Lehner take the brunt of this disaster the last 2 weeks and Lehner has worked himself and hopefully the team out of it, there's a lot of respect gained and lost in that room IMO.

The whole point I am making here is under normal circumstances and all logic points to Anderson starting tonight for various reasons and Lehner starting the 2nd game of a back to back, against Anderson's old team, and in front of his friends and family, to me that just slap in Anderson's face and he won't be back if that's the case.

By "they", are you referring to the pre-game show when a guy with the initials DB tried to stir up some mud?  He basically Burked Anderson by trashing him (alleging that all he had was a "stinger") and then saying "Don't get me wrong, I think Anderson is a terrific goalie."

He's not starting tonight against his old team and in front of friends and family so that's a statement right there.

Yup, me too.  That's a statement made by MacLean and if it didn't come from him it came from Murray.

Next year there is going to be no argument who the goalie of the present and future is, it's one less thing to worry about.

Maybe Matrix is still a bit injured. I think you guys are blowing it out of proportion.

I'm glad I didn't bet at this point. That's a shocker to me. With the season done, I'm literally shocked they didn't put Anderson in tonight and then if they wanted to run with Lehner, put him in next game.

Murray never does anything proactive though, so I still don't think he gets traded.

Plus the goalie market is balls.

ya i agree with Tim, he might still not be 100%. so that could be it. that and the fact that BM wouldn't have the balls to trade him.
Now if any team is looking for a goal tender does their research they'll see that Anderson has been very good going into the last years of all of his contract. they would do well to consider him.
Vancouver has to be an option as they will see they're left with nothing but their Richard in their hands after both goalie trades. it's not a great market right now as a bunch of goalies will be out there. but i bet murray will wait till all the big goalie FA are signed then i look at who's left with nothing.
there might be a trade with WSH if they don't manage to keep Halak past this season.

not sure who they could trade Anderson to, although his contract his cheap.
