I would be perfectly happy with Spezza just vanishing from the roster, let alone getting anything back for him. Cogliano and a 1st is fine.

Meh, I think the Sens pick is obtainable if Anahiem truly wants Spezza.  Cogliano and a 1st is probably close value wise for Spezza at this point.  Cogliano would fit in like a glove in Ottawa as well.

ok so i haven't really paid much attention to him in the past few years but isn't he a 3rd line center at best? i can see he's got 20 goals this year but this is an anomaly no?
i'm not sure what i'd want personally. unless we win the draft lottery i'm not sure our 1st is exactly what i'd prefer back. some NHL ready players might be better. maybe send us haglin and stepan for spezza ++.. ya maybe a little daydreaming there. i just don't really care all that much for picks at the moment. but i guess i'd take our 1st but i'd rather someone else then cogs.

NYR is another team I could see making a pitch for Spezza but we'll see.

Apparently MacArthur ripped apart the Sens today and it was suggested on hockey central that Spezza wants out.  Hope it's all true.

HockeyCentral never made mention of him wanting out... but it was mentioned that the Sens org is "not happy" with his play.

What exactly did MacArthur say?

BMurr and PMac were probably banking on Alfie still being here, so leadership was never going to be an issue... then we all know what happened... and they had to change their plan. Remember how long it took to name him captain? Who knows what was being said... never been the same since.
