No.  Simpson is *a* member of a single medium -- radio.  Saying "media" implies it's been on radio, tv, print, etc.  It's been (primarily) one guy whose opinion is trashed here on a daily basis (not by me -- I actually don't mind him).

Ryan says about himself that he is not the fastest starter.

As I mentioned before, The Hockey Simmer takes digs at just about every player he talks about and he's done nothing but knock Ryan's skating since Ottawa traded for him. More recently it's been the skating and the conditioning.

Apparently Simmer is a huge Habs fans. Not surprising the digs he takes at the Sens. I notice when listening to him on the radio.. IF they have an interview with someone... Simpson does most of the talking... not the invitee... He annoys me.. I don't like him. He is in the same line of talking as Jim Jerome.. I call it.. degrading to women..

Simmer does not have any Habs bias whatsover. Not a fan of the non-stop talking but biased he certainly is not.

Moving Conacher up on to the top line would make sense as well, not sure he's got that play making ability but he gets his nose dirty and can clean up the garbage around the net... adds a bit of speed as well. If he does get that look and someone has to come up from Bingo I really hope they give Peterson a good look, there's a guy who IMO might fit in really well with Turris and MacArthur as well.

Defense needs to be a little faster in decision making. I am guessing the 2nd pairing will need some time

Very much so. Was gonna say that earlier and forgot. The sooner they make decisions faster, the quicker we'll get the puck up the ice and get on the offensive.

One of the best posts ever. I was a little shocked that it got that confrontational. But also delighted.

He (Wallace) basically interviewed Ryan and asked him point blank about the fitness testing at camp.  Ryan replied "What do you want me to do, print it out and fax it to you?  My results from camp were very good.  I was third in skating among the entire team [Karlsson, Greening, Ryan?  Or does MacArthur sneak in ahead of EK?]."  He followed up with a story back in Anaheim when he was 20; Carlyle came in, put the results in front of him and said "You need to change" and Ryan said "I did, I changed, and I haven't had a problem with fitness or conditioning in 7 years."  

Wallace also said he thinks he is fine, if he doesn't skate 110 mph does that mean he is the slowest player in the world?  Ryan is not fleet of foot and we all know that, but he scores 30 goals and that's what he is there to do.  And after 2 pre-season games and 2 regular season games it's too early to evaluate.

Simmer didn't back down, though.  He said he's watched him since he was drafted and maintained his point; certain things you watch for but you don't press the panic button, just hope he works through it.
