Yeah.. Sdao had to fight twice for delivering a clean hit.

Got to get that fighting after a clean hit out of the game.. or give a 10 Min misconduct on top of the fighing major. It's just stupid.

I'm sure Neil & Kassian are pretty ticked at what he did. Look for a beat down or a big slugfest when the Sens meet Calgary next.. which I think isn't until Jan.

Way too much for a guy that might play 75% of the games in that contract if they are lucky. Michalek is on his last legs both literally and figuratively.

well I guess this is what this season will show. if that treatment in germany was successful then it might not be an issue anymore. we'll see I guess but 5x5 might be what it is. my fear is that after a good season(30+goals & no injuries) he'd probably get a bigger offer on the FA market.

Damn right he would and I still wouldn't pay the 5 x 5 for him. Michalek does not have 5 good years of hockey left in him. There are other guys in the organization that can come in and play in the top 6 for Michalek, there are way cheaper options for what Michalek might demand and will eventually bring. This goes double if someone like Hoffman establishes himself as a top 6 player this year as well.

McGratton got a long penalty out of it. He's there for that reason alone basically. Sdao delivered a clean hit (apparently), but if you're gonna do that in pre-season, you're probably gonna have to fight. And Stajan got one-punched, so I guess Grats felt he needed to do it (because he's borderline challenged).

Sdao did nothing but impress last night.

lol how would you know this?

Because everyone is talking about him for positive reasons. I didn't see it but knowing what he did last night, fighting the entire team, getting an assist... got his Donkey kicked by arguably the best enforcer in the game. Sounds amazing to me and everyone else that talks about him thinks so as well.

Wish I saw it though.

He's been great. Have liked the sound of his game for a while now and seeing him reinforces that.

I heard his name a lot at during the game. Sounded like the whole team was trying to set him up to complete the Gordie.

Gotta agree...I don't see Michalek back after this season. As others have said, either he'll wind up injured again, or he'll have a terrific year and price himself out. He'll be looking for a real long-term deal, and I'm not sure we'd be comfortable giving him that at somewhere around $6M per.

We have a few important guys with expiring contracts in the next few years who are more important to resign than Michalek.

Exactly. Michalek may have his best season ever and if he does, he won't repeat it. If he doesn't have his best season ever then there is an issue there too. I can't see anyway the Sens resign him long term.

Thanks. I really like Sdao, just curious because nobody saw the game.

Everybody has a guy like him but it would be great if he turns into a trade assset

No reason why Sdao couldn't be part of the Sens like Carkner was in a few years. Phillips is on his last legs, Corvo won't be here more than a season, gotta think that's a depth guy they want to have around the organization. Also depends on how good Cowen becomes.
