It really sounds, from Alfie anyway, that this was his call and was just about the pursuit of the Cup. Interesting.

For a second there I thought Mendes was going to as him about Bobby Ryan coming to Ottawa. Instead he asks if he's afraid this will sour the city on him and ruin his legacy. And he answers, "Probably not."

Also, gotta apologize for what I said about Melnyk because he just took huge risk along with the team. Good risk though.

I can't be mad at The Alfie. If Ottawa doesn't hoist the cup next season, I hope he does.

I find that I am way overreacting to Alfie's departure. Feels to me like a personal betrayal which it should not. Gotta let go. Best of luck Alfie. Thanks for the great years. Hope we kick you new team's Donkey and that we make you highly regret this bad decision. It's just a game.

Something doesn't smell right for sure. Should have never come to this but it looks like a future in Ottawa isn't in the cards after hockey either.

We'll see how his (former) team mates feel next time we lineup against Detroit. Neil will catch him cutting across and we'll see if he lets up or not.
