He should have just stood out there, mumbled some crap and then left. He's never been much of a talker and gives crappy interviews. Now the Toronto media are all over it, suggesting he's showing fear etc... gong show.

I thought that showed fear as well.
Heh. I'm sure he's worried. He's sucked Donkey against the B's this year. So who knows. More turmoil for the Leafs... I love it. He made it worse himself in the end.

Every one is counting the Leafs out. I don't know -- the Bs have been Brutal lately. This sums it up nicely:

Let's start by facing facts. Right now, the Bruins kind of stink. They are 2-5-2 in their last nine games, which means they have just two wins in nine games. And those two wins aren't exactly impressive, coming against two Sun Belt squads that had long since given up hope for this season. The final NHL standings show Florida and Tampa Bay dead last and third to last, respectively; beating them in the final week doesn't count for much.

In fact, a good portion of the Bruins' wins look a little shaky. Despite finishing with 62 points (third in the conference, fifth in the league), they built much of that record early in the season and against the portion of the league not continuing to play into May. They were a middling 12-10-5 against the seven playoff teams. Even worse, they finished a paltry 1-6-3 against top seeds Pittsburgh (0-3-0), Montreal (1-2-1) and Washington (0-1-2).

They may have gone 3-1 against the Leafs this season but don't forget that Lupul was gone for all but the last game (an OTL by the Leafs). And the Bruins won 4 against the Sens before they started to stink, and they lost the 5th game 4-2. If the Sens' fortunes can turn around, why not the Leafs'?

I don't think people are writing them off... I'm personally hoping they get their asses handed to them, but in reality, I think it will be a pretty close series that will likely go 7 games. The big unknown with the Leafs is how the team will handle the post season in general, especially Reimer. Bruins have been there done that. Rask also has questions but has at least played a number of post season games with the B's.

Seriously doubt it goes long. I think the Leafs are about to be beaten soundly - or I hope.

I can certainly understand the "hope", but why do you *think* so?

Better D, better forward depth, better system, bigger, better goaltender, their star players aren't scared crapless of the media and getting hit. It all adds up.

All I know is that the Bruins have been playing really poor hockey the last 10 or so games (only 2 wins in the last 9, and those were against the Florida teams). Chara was brutal in the last game against the Sens, gave the puck away, did not cover the man, failed to block shots. Lucic has *6* goals this season, and did not look like his old truculent self against the Sens. The scrap he had with Neil couldn't have hurt much more than his feelings, yet he was a non-factor after it. Horton still hears a Who after that concussion.

Anyway, this is not the same team from the early part of the season.
