Bobby Mac: SJ's Raffi Torres will have disciplinary hearing with NHL for hit on LA's Jarret Stoll. Sounds like request is for an in-person hearing.

Oh oh... Torres at it again...

Give the life, honestly. I actually don't think the hit was THAT bad but fact of the matter is Torres has made a career out of hurting people and is a repeat offended of the worst kind. Here's a guy that does not get any kind of benefit of the doubt. The game is better without him in it.

Certainly not as bad as the Hossa hit. 3-5 games is my guess. Rest of the series.

Weird. Same match up (#1 / #7) as in the East, and the same opening game score.

Edit: Except the Hawks doubled the Wings on the shot clock (Sens outshot the Pens a little bit).

That hit by Torres almost reminds me of the Gryba/Eller hit, where he almost gets him more with his back than anything else. Not an atrocious hit, but given the history, I guess it warrants a suspension. The weird thing is that it's an in-person hearing, so a suspension could be 6 or more if Shanaban is feeling particularly banny today.

I think the big difference is that Torres seems to have primary contact with Stoll's head (face, really), whereas Gryba certainly hit Eller's head, but grazed the shoulder first. Primary point of contact is a big element when considering suspensions.

Apparently Ovechkin had a broken foot in games 6 and 7.

Then went over to play in the Worlds just to lose 8-3 to the 'Merkins.

Torres gets the rest of the series -- if it goes 7 games, that's a 6 game suspension and he can appeal to an independent arbitrator.

Canada had a 1-0 lead, then had the 5 minute PP but couldn't score that third goal; ended up losing in the SO. Bye-bye.

Doesn't really matter.. he won't be back until next season as LA will take the series.

Yeah. Remember when people used to confuse him with Scotty Hamilton?
