I also kind of would like to see the the peg win tonight. I'd love the rags not to make the playoffs.

Mendes: Jared Cowen will be paired with Eric Gryba tonight. The two were teammates in Binghamton, but have never played together as d-partners.

MacLean just said Cowen was a world class player.

Man, Cowen coming back just makes the team that much better. Lots of time to shake off the rust as well.

I'd be OK with Wiercioch playing in Phillips' place depending on the opposition. Phillips may have to play the right side on the third pairing next year if Gonchar is not re-signed and Ceci is not ready (both very real possibilities).

Odd pairing there. I get it as a shutdown pairing, but I figured they liked what they got from a Methot/Gryba pairing - and I thought Cowen would come in and take the left side with Gonchar.
