I think we can pretty much be seen as up and comers. if he could see himself sticking around more then that year then we could totally be an option... he might not have many anyways.

If the Sens get Spezza back for round 2... anything is possible. You just hope he doesn't think he has to be the hero when he does get back. PP and selected shifts for the first few games.

Yep, we've proven we can do OK without him...no reason to rush anything at this point. (not talking about 2nd round)...but if we can get a few days off between rounds, that'd be a bonus!

Put him on the 4th line with the kids. Let him work his way back up the roster. Play with 13F -- they've done well playing with just 5D.

We can do OK without him playing the Habs without Emelin and Eller (and now Gionta), with Pacioretty and Prust both playing hurt.

If the Islanders don't pull two more miracles our opponent in the second round would be Sid/Geno/Iggy/Neal/Letang/Orpick plus a few more guys with 20 goals.

Not sure why it matters really. He's always had back trouble, and will always have back trouble. Best he can hope for is to manage it well. The important thing here is that he's ramping up his workouts, and skating on back-to-back days without having a relapse. He might still be two weeks out, but we'll take that at this point.

Having chronic back problems is one thing, recovering from back surgery something else.

I remember...I thought he'd be back in late April I think. I was pretty convinced.
