Alfie may get on Twitter today. I will finally have the appropriate opportunity to propose to him.

I think people can seriously start to question who gets the "C" next in Ottawa. Karlsson is starting to show exactly why he may very well get that honour.

Yup, even over Spezza. It's pretty clear at this point who the team is being built around and who actually has those intangibles to go along with his talent. Karlsson is clearly among the elite of the elite in the NHL...

He's around the age right now where players get the crack at the "C" and the franchises are based around those players.

I'd choose him over Spezza, but not sure Murray and Mac will. There's definitely a hierarchy to this and Spezza's show he deserves it as well and has been here much longer.

Maybe it goes from The Alfie to Phillips to Karlsson. The issue is that Spezza could be around for a long time, and might perceive it as a slap in the face. If they give it to Philly for a couple years until Spezza is gone and Philly retires...problem avoided.

Anyway, it's not a big deal in my mind...I think leadership here has been provided by The Alfie, Neil, Phillips, Spezza, etc...now Methot looks like a good leader. But Karlsson WILL wear the "C" sooner or later.

We'll see if they want Spezza to lead this team with Karlsson now established as one of the elite in the game. The team is being built around Karlsson and as such the "C" may very well go to him. IMO it should.

Karlsson will get an "A" when The Alfie retires.

no way guys, no way do they pass on the C to Karlsson right away unless two things happen. either spezza is injured much much longer after Alfie retires or Spezza is traded.

that scenario just isn't possible unless Spezza actually refuses to be the C.

Phillips probably won't get the C. He's what, 35 now? He may have one or two seasons left. He'll get passed over, IMO.
