The goalie he's shooting on is the doc that worked on his achilles... good to see he's keeping a close eye on things. Very promising.

Kind of Cussed up how good EK looks considering the injury. That spin-o-rama he pulls off at around the 1:40 mark in the video was slick.

I would have to agree with you Prags, how can he not be back before the end of the season given how good he looks in this video?

The video yesterday he was in a track suit. Some people I talked to said, yeah track suit, nothing to get excited about (even PMac, when asked about it, jokingly asked if there was music and little kids on the ice with him). This was serious skating. Yesterday he skated for about an hour. Not sure how long he skated today, but he looked to be getting a little tired -- that's actually a good thing, since you can bet this is no light skate. Every shot he took was off his right leg, so I didn't see him putting much pressure on the left one -- but he is a RHS so that's natural, right?

Anyhow, I'm not a doctor (as some of you like to remind me), and I'm certainly not saying he's going to be in the lineup any time soon, but this is not a player rehabbing his injury to be ready for September or even for the World Cup. Dr. Chow is a bit of a miracle himself. Remember that motorcycle accident he was 2-1/2 years ago? With the head injuries he suffered there was serious concern about him pulling through, much less getting back to surgery. And now he's risking all that to take shots from an NHL player? Maybe those head injuries were more severe than we thought Smile

The hardest part would be the transition from forwards to backwards and vis versa... there is a ton of pressure put on the calf and tendons there. He looked just fine doing it too. Wouldn't surprise me if he was just over a week away the way he has looked.

How's Spezza doing btw? Has he hung them up yet?

Because Spezza went to some doctor in Toronto who probably doesn't even return his calls, much less go out on the ice with him. Dr. Chow's post-op care can't be beat. He doesn't just make house calls, he gears up and takes slapshots from you.

Again, unfair. Some people just heal up quicker, some are more tolerant to pain. Spezza wants to get back on the ice but for some reason -- be it mental or physical -- is unable to do so. And I don't think it's pain related either -- if the doctor told him there was nothing he could do to worsen his condition, and it was only pain, I'm sure they could find plenty of options for him to consider.
