Man, I was right in the corner at SBP when that happened, amazing. But yah, a deal involving Cowen for Eberle would be a pretty solid move for the Sens IMO.

If they ever trade any of their wingers it will be Yakupov IMO. They were willing to trade the #1 pick at the last draft.

LeKing wrote:
I think a high second would be fine. Deep draft this year so if we trade the 1st for Perry it could soften the blow
I'd still prefer packaging him

Yeah we'll get a 2nd rounder and change. Unless we make a package we're not getting a roster player or prospect though.

With the toe of the stick on the puck, he can push down on the edge and flip the puck on to the blade, then either go lacross-style or just flip it up. Or, like I said earlier, stop in mid-spin and drive it between his legs and under the goalie doing the splits.

If he tries this again and misses, he'd be the laughing stock of the league.
I think it was a one time thing, hit or miss

Kassian describes Ottawa as
a team that could use some more of a physical presence, and I definitely intend to bring that and try to bring some confidence to our guys.

He's gonna come crashing out of the gate. Vertigo

Sounds like Dreger hyping the TSN Trade Deadline show.

Kind of obvious, we're not trading our prospects and we are not taking on salary cap dumps.

Briere is a different story and he's being close to forced out. He's a cap dump but again, real money of 5 mil over the next 2 years, that's it. For a team with a ton of cap space that's the perfect trade. Automatic in the playoffs and adds another top 6 forward. Ottawa is his home town as well and he has a full NTC... might want a chance at a cup too.

He won't waive his NTC. End of story.

Players tend to waive their NTC when it becomes clear they are no longer wanted. Why stay ?

They use the NTC to ensure they go to a team of their choosing instead. Does not mean it will happen but it has happened in the past.

BTW -- interview with Murray on TSN.. He said Spezza did not have a setback.

He over excerted the other day and has sore back muscles.. muscles not used for a while..

He said a recheck by his doctors showed everything is as it should be..

Check out the video on TSN.

Yah, when a team says they don't want you anymore players change their tunes. END OF STORY

If he doesn't waive he will for sure be bought out. It would cost the Flyers nothing to buy him out and they will want the cap space. Briere will see the writing on the wall and may figure he can make more in the next 2 years by getting bought out and signing in the summer.

Didn't Redden not waive for a trade to San Jose in 2007?

The thing with Briere is he has 3 kids going to school in Philly, and doesn't want to move them. Maybe that changes in the off-season, but guys like Bob McKenzie have maintained that Briere will NOT waive his NTC.

*Maybe* that changes in the off-season when the kids are done with school for the summer.

Devils @ Flyers tonight... Devils are 1 point behind us. Hopefully the Flyers can do us a solid. The bottom 4 spots in the East are wicked tight at the moment. We need some distance.

Yah, I can't see him being traded in season, this would for sure be an offseason move for the Flyers if it does indeed pop up. That's the life for a professional athlete though and it's part of the job.
