If anyone on this team that is really enjoying the chance he's been given it's Methot. I'd say he's overwhelmingly happy to be in ottawa. he's a keeper.

Carkner was fine til he wanted a long term deal when his role was limited and he had a bum knee.

A-train was fine til (again) he wanted a long-term deal even though his style would greatly diminish his performance as he gets older. He doesn't seem to be doign as well in NJ and I haven't seem one incident of him destroying people like he did here.

Not quite, in those cases there were circumstances beyond contract demands, where it wasn't worth signing the player long term. It's not because they weren't happy here.

Otherwise we have no future because everyone will want to be happier elsewhere.

That's the thing that really mystifies me...when the media talks about an Alfie trade scenario, they seem to ignore the fact that we are currently very much in the playoff picture. Sportsnet was all over this subject last night, spouting off different trade circumstances...what a waste of time.
