I bet he's ready to 'go' by early May. He's a super athlete, better conditioned than anyone else and 3 months is the best case scenario - which is what I think it'll be for him. He'll be 100% by October - if all things go to plan, that's all we can ask for right now.

He'll be ready to play by October but he might not have 100% strength until a year later.

From what I read Bieksa had the same injury and it took a year before he was 100%.

EK better be wearing Kevlar socks after this.

Melnyk should shell out for a pair for everyone.

Cyril Leeder will have to get the corporate community to pay for those just like the scoreboard.

Dude, no he isn't. He was going in for a slew foot there and that's pretty clear. Just as dangerous as a head shot. You do not take guys into the boards with your knee up and you are not taught to do it that way either. The slew foot is the biggest on ice issue in terms of players safety right now and I am 100% of the opinion that anything deemed a slew foot should be suspendable.

If Cooke doesn't try and slew foot Karlsson or take his knee into the boards (w/e his intent was there) then Karlsson plays the rest of that game. It was reckless and it was a dangerous and pretty useless hit to begin with.

Then why is every single NHL person on the planet saying it was just a freak accident? c'mon man. It might be reckless but it's stupid for people to think he wanted to actually cut him.

Cutting Karlsson was an freak thing, no question. The fact that it was a dirty play or an attempt at one on the best player in the NHL makes it just as bad. There was ill intent that intire process and it ended worse than anyone could have imagined short of being paralyzed or something along those lines. The slew foot is the dirtiest play in the game.

He didn't try and cut him but he 100% was there to try and hurt him and he did, just not the way he intended to.

This exactly. I don't think Cooke went in thinking 'I'm gonna cut him' but he definitely intended to do something, my guess is a slew foot. Of course no NHL person is going to say he did it on purpose (to cut him) but ask again about reckless intent and perhaps the thinking changes. Bryan Murray seems convinced. The sens players seem convinced.

A Pens fan called it to AM-690 (Montreal) and said he'll defend his team but not the player. Cooke is known for his dirty play and this was just another example. Nobody is saying he intended to cut him, but that knee was up for a reason -- probably to hit his knee into the boards, maybe a skate boot to the ankle. It was an unnecessary move (to raise the leg) and it was not a 100 mph play, either. He was in complete control therefore he intended to do something.

Donovan called up a player who still plays in the NHL (not affiliated with either team) and he said there was no doubt in his mind that Cooke went in intended to hurt Karlsson. Donovan himself with another ex-NHLer tried to re-create the hit this morning and could not come up with a good reason why his skate was where it was.

I can believe it unfortuneately there is no way to prove this. Cooke shouldn't even be in the NHL after what he's done.

We've seen people take runs at Karlsson before, I remember last year Lucic charging at him from the blue line with his elbow out. There was more at sure(Boyle incident). It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was targeted. I don't think there was specific intent to injure him but when you're physically targeted to this extend, accidents happen.

He's so much smarter than a meathead like Lucic. He'd have trouble catching him if Karlsson was wearing sneakers on the ice.

I'm just saying Karlsson is physically targeted by every team. He can't avoid all contact and if there's contact with a reckless douche like Cooke, "accidents" are more likely

Cooke really is a douche. I wish Neil had damaged his Cussing face yesterday. Mad

Cooke is a dangerous player. A leopard doesn't change his spots..

He is a lier and a coward.

He turtled when Neil wanted to go..

Well now they wait until Apr 22nd to have their revenge.

Cooke had better come prepared for a fight.

I hope the Sens are prepared to hit hard any Pens player in that game.

The Pens have taken out Karlsson and in a sense did the final damage to Spezza's back.. and ruined the Sens chance at a playoff spot in what we looked upon as a chance this season for a good playoff run.

Karma is a Wing Dang Doodle. Pronger found that out.. and so will Cooke and the Pens.
