And Regin - either you play him on the wing, or you scratch him and try Da Costa. He's not creating anything as a C.

Regin should be on the LTIR where he belongs.

He needs to play LW. This C idea isn't working. We all know he has talent, but this is literally the Dung or get off the pot time of his Senator career.

Frustrating. Bah.

Regin is pretty close to done. He has nothing on his shot, won't dig in the corners, he's basically weak and scared and you can't play like that. They need another play maker with Alfi and Michalek because Turris is a shooter.

Maybe we can get Loktionov if we get really desperate, don't see anything else out there(doubt Colorado will trade RoR).

Meh, Da Costa is next in line, no reason not to give him a look if they do end up having troubles scoring goals.

In the first 8 games they have scored first just once... that is the thing that will kill them.

That's the most bizarre statistic, why does the opponent score first ? (although lately we take way too many penalties in the first).

Well we're going to have a couple of iffy games at least until MacLean finds something that works.

It's something that needs to change and change quickly.

We don't score first because we have 1 first line talent. And now he's injured. THen when the game gets further we outwork the opposition and get some defensive breakdowns from opponents and start to score.

Tonight I saw at least 4 passes from Karlsson that should have ended up in a good scoring chance, just to die on the forward's stick. I think the Canes just played a good defensive game, and we don't have the talent yet to stickhandle through that.

2-3 more games like this, I'd call up DaCosta.

Meh, we have enough 2nd line talent to make up for the lack of true top line talent, they just didn't click last night offensively. Michalek, Alfie, Turris, Z.Smith, Greening, Neil, O'Brien, Condra - they can all do it if they work as a team.

Karlsson's on another level though. Sometimes he'll need to carry the puck into the offensive zone and shoot himself though. He passed up on a couple of opportunities last night and he needs to shoot that himself.

They should have Zib-Turris-Silf for the whole game tomorrow, although all 3 are shooters.

Have you found Silf has fallen a real step behind, or is it just my lofty expectations?

A bit, but he's just adjusting. He's doing nothing but playing the perimeter. Zibanejad has outplayed him in every game.

Pretty much. They'll be a dynamic duo at some point soon though, too much skill and awareness from Silf, but yeah, Z-Bad looks like the real deal.

I thought he's looked like young Hossa at times

Let Karlsson carry the puck and then have a choice of three shooters to pass to, or take it himself.
