So, one way or another, Bishop will start against Carolina. Glad we have settled on that Smile

Did you hear Simpson on Team 1200 saying how he thinks 6'6" is too tall for goalies? How 6'3" is about as tall as you want your goalie to get before things get awkward. Hmm, not sure about that. Yes, Bishop looked awkward, and he *did* injure himself last year because he couldn't get his legs tucked under properly. But I've seen short goalies look awkward, too, especially when nerves and rust combine. And there isn't a goalie size or shape that is immune from injuries with the butterfly style.

Hmm, Dryden was 6'4". He was pretty good. Of course he didn't play the butterfly style.

I kind of agree with Simpson here. 6'3, 6'4 and you are big enough to cover a lot of the net but also agile enough to get up and down and side to side quickly. When you get into the big tall goaltender that are always playing in the butterfly they are just hoping the puck hits them, there's no real reaction and they depend 100% on their positioning. If the first shot isn't sucked up or deflected away then they are in trouble.

It's also takes a split second longer to get up and down for them and as hard as the guys in the NHL shoot the puck it's a ton more time.

There's a reason why the best guys in the league are all around the 6'2 mark give or take. That's also the average height of a goaltender.

Mendes: Dan Ellis was the first goalie off the ice for the Hurricanes today. Cam Ward still on the ice taking shots.

Ottawa gets another break although Ward hasn't been very good this year and in Ellis appearances he has looked decent.

If Gonchar is good to go -- which it looks like he is -- I would expect he is paired with Borowiecki. Benoit may play with Phillips.

Good move. Curious what the line combo's will be with Latendresse coming out and knowing that they probably shouldn't mess with the 4th line of JOB/Zibanejad/Condra.

The guy someone needs to find chemistry with is Silfverberg so maybe him and Regin can figure something out.

Yay for Dan Ellis. Ward seems to find ways to win against us.

Would seem the perfect time to play our backup but, no.

The Do-Re-Si line?

Figured they would put Regin with Silfverberg. Whenever 2 guys are struggling sometimes that kind of thing works.

Not while he's playing like this. Rack up the wins while we can. Rough waters ahead.

I'm sure PMac will juggle a bit as the game goes along.
