No because they don't give the effort of pretty much every team out there at this time of year....

Does that mean we will win tomorrow for sure. We lost tonight?

Teams often get caught looking down at opponents this time of year. Just like Ottawa did last year, teams are gonna take advantage of this and spoil the party for the playoff teams. Ottawa if files with inexperience and simply a lack of skill so it's not surprising that they are falling back a bit, but they will still make it. Washington and Buffalo will battle it out for 8th, that's it IMO.

Is that like a Neely guarantee - like guaranteeing that with the cushion the Sens have no one will catch up to them

I didn't think anyone would, either. I sure didn't expect that they'd Dung the bed so badly and that Buffalo would catch fire.

Would have been so sweet if Slifverberg was out of the playoffs right now...

I really hope so. To sit in 6-7 for a few months and then choke to 9th in the final week to playoffs is a bigger epic fial than the Leafs this season IMHO. It's pretty hard living where I do with a team that works hard - even through injuries etc, and then come on strong to be the favorite in the east - and then there's the #@$@#$ SENS.

no money in the world would make me happier than beating the Pens Saturday, because if it's another a$$ raping like tonight - I might just have to take a sick day on Monday.... I still haven't lived down the sweep from a few years ago.....

so you're impressed with the play of the last few games then? They've been fading since the ASG.

10-8-4 since the all-star break. not too bad.

Actually they limped into the ASG. But they still had convincing wins like 5-2 over the Islanders (Lehner's 1st game), then the 7-3 over TBL, 4-1 over the Rangers. Maybe that's when the flu bug hit and they lost their drive. Tough to get it back quickly.

there's always some excuse when they start losing a bit. The refs, the flu bug. If they actually had a flu bug you'd think more players than 1 would be out of the lineup.

Yep. Won against the Rangers and Boston before those two started sucking. It was gradual, for sure, but has accelerated of late.

Need a couple call ups to spark some offense. I love Klinkhammer and Greening and Condra, but two of them are playing in the top six (or at least were) and that's just not working. Those three are great for an energy line, but we need scoring. Petersson, DaCosta, Hoffman, hell, even Parrish, maybe.
