It's just odd when someone omits a player that is basically a consensus top 5, even top 3 pick. I'll post McKenzie's ratings.

Apparently a scout referred to Grigorenko as a cross between Chad Kilger and Nik Antropov.

Will there be any "upsets"? Will there be any "conspiracies"?

I will do up a mock soon and give my opinion on who the Sens could target with the 15th pick. Lots of options. I've seen most of the potential first rounders in this class.

Might want to speculate on who they will take anywhere from 15th to 30th while you are at it.

Are you also basing your mock draft off of team needs or BPA?

Assuming we're drafting 15-20ish, NHL.com's rankings has a block of four D-men in the 15-19 spots: Matt Finn, Cody Ceci, Slater Koekkoek, Brady Skjel. If you were picking today, and they were all available but everyone ranked above them was taken, who do you take?

ISS(and Button) has Ceci at 9th, MacKenzie at 12th. It seems unlikely he'll fall to 15th.

I could see Ceci falling a bit. He's a let birthday, good on the PP and likes to lead the rush but I am not the biggest fan of his. Not the best in his own zone and skates awkwardly.

Out of those four above, I would probably take Koekkoek myself.

The NHL Draft Lottery goes tomorrow... TSN will have it... the fun starts at 8pm.

Would love to see the Jets win the lottery and push the Leafs down one spot.

Antropov has all the tools except for the most important one -- the one in his head. Kilger was never much more than a plug, wasn't he? What kind of a "cross" could this be? I'd be intrigued if I wasn't just so thoroughly confused.

FYI, here's the quote from Steve Simmons' Sun article whee he referred to the scout he talked to:

http://m.torontosun.com/2012/04/07/simmons-burning-questions-for-leafs?noimage=true

Heard a rather haunting scouting report on highly ranked Mikhail Grigorenko, one of top players expected to be picked in NHL draft. “He’s a cross between Nik Antropov and Chad Kilger,” the respected scout said. And that, folks, is not a ringing endorsement ...

Steve Simmons trying to get hits. Grigorenko plays exactly like Spezza.

Plus Antropov isn't terrible, actually. Leafs handled him poorly.
