No, I totally expect that type of comment from NEELY. He can't argue civilly so he resorts to childish insults.
I take it as a victory.

Only players I consider worthy of trading the #1 overall for would be:
Doughty, Karlsson, Pietrangelo, Myers, maybe Bogosian, Erik Johnson (?)... you get the idea. Would have to be an impact player, young, with huge upside.
The problem is, nobody wants to give that up.

Buuuuuuut back to real life where Dash doesn't seem to have a clue.

To be fair, you have resorted to both insults and condescension, here and in other threads, recently. Not that, I agree, that excuses that behavior from anyone, yourself included, but let's be honest here.

By the way, it's ironic that you criticize me for lacking a clue, when your solution is to trade the pick in some fantasy trade where a team magically gives up a franchise defenceman.

Fire with fire? Sometimes I resort to his level, which is below me, so you are right. I should be the bigger man.
But he is clearly dismissing my ideas and blinded by rage that he can't see the validity of my comments.

So until it happens, this is all speculation and rumor mongering.

I think that's one scenario (for the record, I think any of those last three on your list could be had for the right price, and that that 1st would probably be it). Another would be moving downward in the draft, getting a good young D from one of the other top 5 teams, and then snagging another D with that other team's pick -- i.e., coming out of the draft with two young, potentially elite D.
TOR's pick + Gardiner / Schenn
NYI's pick + Hamonic / De Haan
Etc., etc.
I'm just spitballing here. I'm sure there are other, better potential fits out there.

Seems like massive overpayment to me though. With the 5th overall pick, Burke is going to get a fine player, can't see him giving all that up for one guy.
