If anything, wait for Carkner to come back. There's nothing much we can do. I wouldn't mind trying to get Sutton back, not sure the Oilers or whoever has him wants to get rid of him, but we shouldn't have let him go.

I know, I thought he was still available (which would be silly really), it's Edmonton that has him and I want him back too. Even though he was quite poor for us, he started to turn it around a bit in the end. I'm still loving the guy. The intimidation factor alone is awesome and something we need.

I guess the last 2 seasons would show that he is washed up for sure...I still find myself to be very intrigued though, can't help it. I wish we could even just try him out for 15 games to see what he could do...maybe the young guys would inject some youth into him again...who knows...Alfie is showing some youth again.

Y'know, this probably looks a lot like any Oilers forum from like two years ago.

Hard to figure out what we need when what we've got is not even putting in a consistent 60 minute effort.

I wish we could have a team full of Greenings, Karlssons, Alfies, Neils and Michaleks. They're the only ones that have been consistently playing well.

It's true.

I know we have to practice patience, and I'm willing to do that, but not when we're losing as badly as we are. Show me more of Saturday's effort, even if we lose. At least there's promise there. losing 7-1 and 7-2 especially on home ice, can't happen. I don't care how crappy we are.

It's a 60 minute game, that's not too much to ask that we get effort from everyone. I stand by it: if you're not bringing the effort that Greening and co. are, then we'll call up guys from within that will. Daugavins and Parrish please (or just Daugavins).

Didn't people call this in the summer? Daugavins WILL play for the Sens this year. Book it.

Poor? Sutton was poor in the playoffs unfortunately, but the rest of the time, he was money for this team. One of the best we've had in the category of shutdown D with snarl to boot.

Haha, people are going to have to suck it up. There are players down in Bingo that will get a look before any over the hill vet.

Last thing Ottawa needs is another D man.

Don't look at me, I want Parrish and Daug up - now.

EDIT: And I also want Da Costa to play 18 minutes a night - unless he's not conditioned to do so, then I want him sent down to get conditioned.

I want Sutton - and I'm prepared to sit someone or move someone to the AHL to accommodate him. Unfortunately, I'm sure the Oilers like him.

I thought that we would have a fun season to watch, losing a lot yes, but not being destroyed too often. I was hoping that we could keep the young guys like Cowen, Rundblad, Da Costa, Zibanejad to have them grow together through the good and the bad. I didn't think it would be quite like this. Can it be turned around enough to be able to keep these guys on the team and have them grow together? It would be awesome to see Cowen and Karlsson play together for the full season and have them become a strong pairing. Cowen has looked very lost though and far from NHL ready at this point.

Cowen has looked no more lost that some of our so-called veterans. As mentioned, we'll see Borowiecki at some point, maybe Wiercioch, but unlikely that we'll get any help. These kids will have to play through it and hopefully soon they'll lead the charge and help the Cussing veterans.

I guess that's all I can remember then, usually when you're poor in games that matter the most, it'll leave a negative effect on you.

But yes, I love him. I remember his destructive hits along the boards when fairies we're coming in at full tilt trying to get by. Damn that's scary Dung. For them. Ahhhhh!

That's true. Can't argue with that.
