A couple of us were talking about Lessard in the Tidbits thread. I wonder what everyone else thinks. I think he's the type of player that no team needs. Thoughts?

To the extent that most other teams have a guy like him, it's probably just as well he's there.

Not a fan of his at all. He's a dirty player, with no skill. Still upset with him for not fighting Mirasty in a tilt with Syracuse last year, as Mirasty took liberties with our kids. Greening was then lured into a fight with the goon. Good on the kid, but he shouldn't have to fight career goons like Mirasty.

We should have kept Yablonski. He would not allow dung like that to happen.

Good for the AHL and keeping guys in line with some of our young talent. Not a big fan to be honest, but no harm in re-signing him I guess. Rather guys like Gryba and...whoever not have to fight in the A.

Actually, I guess that's why we re-signed him, not too many guys spring to mind as 'fighters'. Don't want Boro and guys like that dropping them too often.

Hearing stuff like this makes me wish we had signed Kramer this off-season (I think he's 21 but I could be wrong). Guys like Greening are gone so if Lessard decided to start ducking fights we might be left with Gryba sitting in the box a whole lot more than what we want.

Here he is skating backwards out of a fight invite from Mirasty. Mirasty throws a couple of mean elbow pads, then the refs move in to break it up:

AHL goon which they may need this year. Guy plays his role and plays it will. Not an NHL player by any means though, not even close.

AHL-for-life. He has a role down there, somewhat... but not up in the NHL. Lessard on the ice = guaranteed stupid move.

He's a player I'm sure we'll all forget is down in Bingo, unless he does something stupid enough to remind us.

Apparently his place is to blindisde Filatov in practice.

Lessard with a ridiculous blindside run at Filatov on half wall in scrimmage. Filatov down and off for evaluation. #Sens

I tell you, I'll be real pissed if our best looking forward from last night is out for any length of time because of Lessard.

I know training camp is competitive.. but why would he do a thing like that?

That's a cheap shot on your own 'teammate'.

If I'm McLean that's the last he sees the ice.

Maybe he should have exerted more energy last night hitting some Leaf players.
