Just lost 5-0 online to the Habs.

So you not only got it, you got it early. Does this mean you also got Season Ticket, paying the extra $25. And you did all this instead of buying a copy of NHL 11 for $30 new. That's almost paying triple for what a game you said had only a couple of tweaks, and you would not buy and support their laziness.

I don't buy old sports games. If I have to buy one, I'm buying the latest one.

And I bought season ticket because I also like other EA Sports games.

Haven't played it yet. But if you want a cheap way to score, there is one on youtube. I won't post it so as not to overly tempt you.

How's Zibanejad rated in the game? Overall and potential I mean, if you don't mind.

He's not in it, sadly. Not even on Djurgarden.

You have to play with Shannon and Benoit on the Sens if you play online. No Filatov, he's in Binghamton. Konopka is a healthy scratch.

Gonchar-Karlsson is the default first pairing.

Hey, look at that, you scored a goal!!!! Congrats!

Guess we'll have to wait for the beginning of the season for the roster updates.

Haha, I usually play exclusively online but this Winter Classic was against the PC. I just hate playing the computer for some reason - I like the feeling of beating a real person.

I have gone 1-3 online. I beat the Canucks with the Sens for my first win. I've scored like 5 goals with Foligno, and a couple of Bobby Orr rush goals with Karlsson.

Yeah, Karlsson's the man in both real life and the NHL series.

Big Ev wrote:How is that being negative when it's REALITY. I have purchased every game since I can remember. All you get each year - except for some like 07 and 09 I believe - is a slight graphics update, new roster, and SOME gameplay tweaks. This year they added goalie fights (which they HAD before) and braking the glass. WOW what an improvement! Now the glass is gonna break every period just like broken sticks.

I'm done. Give me more changes in 13 and I might buy. Greedy EA. Same with Madden games. But the sheeple will still buy the games.

The games aren't STUPID. You're just supporting their laziness even more. No more from me. This is what is also happening with Call of Duty.

Wow. And now we find out you not only bought it, but you also shelled out an extra $25 to get it early. I can't say I blame you, but...well, read what you wrote above. Laughing3

Anyway, I've played a few games of the Be a Pro mode. It's awesome. I never played this mode much at all in NHL 11 because I didn't like having to sit on the bench and wait for my next shift. Now you can just sim ahead to your next shift, which makes all the difference in my opinion. You can start in the CHL this time...I'm on the 67s playing as a centre with Toffoli and Prince on my wings. It's a lot of fun...except the game where I got a misconduct for boarding on my first shift. At least I could sim to the end of the game. The "battling" in front of the net is pretty good, and I've scored a couple tip-in goals already. Hitting is more realistic this time around for sure, and I find the goalies a little more realistic as well.

All things considered, this is definitely an improvement on NHL 11. I wish I could take a week off work to sit around and play it all day!

I too caved and got season ticket. Picking the game up at midnight tonight from EBgames in Barrhaven.

I was disappointed that Zibby wasn't in the game, but last year I ended up making him and used Forsberg's attribute ratings (74 overall).

Tim, in NHL 11 you could turn off line changes in Be a Pro, and play entire game. I have yet to figure out how to do that in 12. They may have removed that option from the game to prevent people from easily reaching the legend milestones.

Yeah, but I find playing without line changes just too weird. All the stats get messed up. I find the way it's implemented now to be just about perfect. You start in the CHL with a pretty decent rating (69 or 70) and then work your way up. I am the 67's first line centre, as a power-forward, and I also centre the #1 PP unit. I am NOT, however, on the PK units, as there are other forwards with better defensive ratings. Kinda neat.

I get you want the realism, I personally didn't care. As I spend most of my time online in EASHL I just want to play BAP quickly and get the achievements and boosts unlocked.

I play BAP for my player only, don't care about the computers so I could care less if they don't play Razz

Taking some time to get used to NHL on the Dualshock as opposed to the 360 controller. My aim sucks

When you start Be a Pro mode, your aim will suck regardless of your controller. Also, the aim is a little more sensitive it seems, as holding to one side or the other for a second or two when winding up now results in shots that go wide more often than not. It's nice to see shots going wide versus picking the corner all the time.
