Now hearing Senators will make formal announcement on Paul MacLean as new coach tomorrow.

Congratulations to MacLean and we look forward to him bringing the Sens a new identity. :KKK:

He should shave his moustache. No facial hair policy here in Ottawa, like the Yankees! Breed winners!

He better not say that he demands accountability.....I'm not prepared to go down that route again (like hartsy)

He can say it - as long as he knows what he's doing to get that accountability - like KK did in Bingo.

I just HATE how there is not one single video of him on the internet lol. I wanna hear an interview or something.

Really big day has come, he's the most experienced in terms of NHL coaching experience of all candidates, he's got the most pedigree, he's learned from the best, he's a PP specialist (no more trading Gonchar!), he's seen what Swedes can do in Detroit. He immediately gives Ottawa credibility.

Very please - although I was secretly still hoping for KK in some way, but can't argue with this.

I thought MacT was most experienced? Either way, it's a good safe choice with minimal backlash from fans. KK and Cameron would have had their detractors. Ditto with MacT. Muller was the sexy chioce, but this one was the safest.

True, I guess MacT is, but when you're an assistant in Detroit for that long - without the team ever really failing, you're the one IMO.

could be dangerous too. He has never really been on a bad team so who's to say how he will handle the adversity. Detroit is used to winning and have very capable veterans. The overhaul in Ottawa has left the team young and very inexperienced so rest assured there will be some frustrating nights. I just hope he's ready for some headaches. I mean, we just can't compare the adversity in detroit to the adversity in Ottawa.
