NHL 11 is stupid because even guys on a one-way can be sent down.

Ev, sometimes you should check your facts before posting them as facts. This happens all the time in real life. It's just that waivers apply when you send a guy down on a one-way.

I'm not sure what the eligibility rules are, but I'm pretty sure you have to have played in the AHL during the season, that's why I asked if Skinner had started his season there. Obviously, someone on a PTO or a call-up can play, but to send a player down, my understanding is that the player sent down is required to satisfy an eligibility requirement.

Saying guys can be sent down on a one-way is a fact. Like shabbs said, it's jsut that they will be payed an NHL salary. Waivers don't always apply, that's where NHL 11 is wrong.

There is no difference in waivers whether you're on a one-way to a two-way contract. I believe it has to do with age and NHL experience.

Waivers are in no way tied to one-way or two-way contract status. Like Ev said, they apply based on games played and age (age as related to when the player signed his NHL contract). If Spezza could have met the criteria to play in the AHL playoffs, we could have sent him down. Of course, he can't play in the AHL (I think it's only people who were assigned there on a non-conditioning stint that can play).

Sorry, I think I misinterpreted Ev's comment of "NHL 11 is stupid because even guys on a one-way can be sent down."

I thought you were saying that guys on one-way contracts could be sent down in NHL 11, and THAT was stupid.
