That was NOT the hit. It was by the boards... it was a lot worse than that.

But he came back after some time in the 'quiet room'.

Maybe it knocked some character into him, but I doubt it.

Oh, okay, I thought that was the hit too. I was...perplexed.

Here is THE HIT... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrLhkntCs9c

Oh wow, that was a big one. Did it know the douche out of him I wonder? :crossarms:

Probably not, but I still get a tremendous feeling of joy watching that video.

Wow, Setoguchi with the hat trick goal in OT to win it. 3-0 Sharks.

Yep, my pool is Cussed. I have no Sharks in my pool, but 3 Caps, 3 Ducks, 1 Wings, 3 Flyers. I have 5 of my original 15 players left. :crossarms: Dammit! Gag PullHair Facepalm

I have Setoguchi, Thornton and Boyle in my pool. Sitting 10/60 now, probably top 3 by tomorrow morning, the only guy who has more than 2 Sharks players TowelWave

So round 2 is the complete opposite of round 1. Of course, it was impossible to top the drama of round 1. The one series that will go longer than 4 games is the flingin flangin Van/Nash series. YAWN.

Looks like the long layoffs hurt Washington and Detroit.

now that the caps are eliminted a lot of ppeople are wondering who the blame will fall on, obviously boudreau is the likely candidate for this but here's a snipet of what B Mackenzie had to say
Everybody is going to talk about blowing things up and having a lot of bodies flying out the door but in a salary cap world, there are only so many things you can do. Nicklas Backstrom is a 23-year-old kid who's in the first year of a 10-year, $67 million contract. People are going to say they should trade him but that's not likely to happen. The Capitals need to weather the storm with some of these players they've invested in.
who ever thinks they should trade him??? who the hell would say that? i'd be surprised if the caps fans were as reactive as that. like stated he's 23 years old! Spezza has just recently looked like he's turned the corner. i'm sure backstrom will too. Hey i'll do a one for one if they want.
the caps are like the early sens. lots of talent but can't put it together when it counts. it's not like they're riding the line until they fall. they'll have their chance to win the cups for many years still.

I wouldn't trade Spezza for him. Spezza's cap hit is only $300K more and he's got 5 fewer years left on that contract. Backstrom showed a lot of promise when they were the high flying Capitals. With Ovechkin and Green, and a coach who just let them go out there and fly around with barely a thought to back-checking, life was easy. What happened this year, when Ovechkin decided to take it easy in the regular season? 18 goals and 47 assists in 77 games. Spezza had 21 in 66 games on a much worse team (offensively speaking).

Say what you want about Ovechkin, but he had 5 goals and 5 helpers in 9 games; Semin had 4 goals and 6 points; Backstrom had 2 assists. Hopefully it comes out that he was injured, but it's been said that he was in poor shape.

That TBay-Was series reminded me of the Leafs-Sens series in the old days... Sens had all skill but no will...

Yeah, Washington is definitely a reminder of Sens teams gone past.

TBay also has loads of talent themselves, great goaltending, and are being coached fantastically. Lecavalier looks like a new man.
