Ryan Strome it is....

If he's there. I'm going to completely lose my Dung if the top five picks include RNH, Landeskog, Strome and Huberdeau. It's not out of the question, but unlikley. Considering our luck though....

Why? Then we can get Couturier. Ranked higher by scouts on McKenzie's poll

I would have preferred it. Either tank or play for the playoffs. Ottawa did neither.

Start Anderson a few less times, a few less losses.

I think I'd feel much worse going into next year with Smelliott.

I prefer Huberdeau and Strome to Couturier. Of course I prefer RNH/Landeskog to any of those 3, but that's beside the point.

Then we'll have to go for Couturier I would think. Though I don't think Couturier drops out of the top 5. But yeah it really seems like our possibilities are mainly Couturier and Strome....Huberdeau I'd consider an outside shot.

Few weeks ago, we were talking about Landeskog. Imagine that

It's not all on Clouston though, that's my point. Murray has a hand in all of this. He's the architect. As far as Anderson goes, yeah, I prefer him over Elliott no doubt, but unless we are a playoff team, I could care less who the goaltender is.

Not necessarily.

Jersey's D sucks and they need an anchor. NJ could easily grab a D-man or even go with Couturier.

Larsson
RNH
Landeskog
Hamilton
Couturier/Murphy/Siemens/Huberdeau/Strome

and naturally at 6, we get one of those ^. It's literally not as bad as people are crying about. We're still in good position and it's a crap shoot between 3 and 7 or 8.

I don't know, I have the feeling New Jersey will go for Couturier. He's a Lamoriello kind of player because he is big, and plays both ends of the ice. But you're right, he is the kind of player we need. I won't be disappointed with either Strome or Huberdeau though.

Exactly. It feels like a kick in the groin to have to settle after the season we had. Sure it was nice to see some effort from the youth, and nice goaltending near the end of the season, but NOT at the expense of a top 2-3 pick.

Murray said he'll be seeing a player tomorrow night , so most likely Strome or Couturier. Maybe Huberdeau too, they all play on the same night.

Murray says Couturier reminds him of Spezza. Says he's not sure why he's dropping and doesn't know if he will be available. Says he saw him two weeks ago and he was playing mediocre but dominated every shift in the 4rd period.

Says Huberdeau has nice skill, hands, heady.

Strome is a playmaker, quality character guy.

I'm just going to hope Murray makes lemonade out of this lemon, either by trading up or whoever we pick ends up being the Jeff Skinner of the 1st round.

Yeah Dung I forgot about NJ

That's understandable, since they shouldn't be drafting ahead of us. Neither should 2-3 other teams I suppose.
