Agreed. While Bylsma seems to be rock solid as a coach, Trotz consistently gets the most out of a team that, on paper, shouldn't be anywhere near as competitive as they are. I can't imagine anyone but Trotz taking the trophy home.

Bylsma is winning it. You don't base the winner on what they've done in the past.

normally I'd call this a homer pick, but yeah its hard to ignore his accomplishments this year. although Barry Trotz is become perennial candidate, so he's gotta win it sooner rather than later.

You don't know that they didn't. Boucher may have been 4th.

Its all in the name I guess but that Roloson pickup is looking solid. problem is, it did look a little silly when they were down 3-1. Boucher deserves a ton of credit for that comeback though, that man was as calm and cool as they come. Based on that series I'd give him coach of the year but alas, post-season doesn't factor in.

EDIT: also, credit to yzerman I guess for hiring Boucher in the first place. He knew this guy was a keeper and he went and got him. Perhaps if he became the Ottawa GM two years ago....

Trotz is like Bylsma, except without the talented players. Even without Crosby AND Malkin (and they were there for some of the year), Pittsburgh's payroll is probably higher than Nashville's!

TBH, The West is way tougher and regardless of the winner I think Trotz had a tougher task than Bylsma.
