Since i brought his name up earlier, the guy with a lot of question marks is Regin. If Ottawa drafts RNH or Strome come June 24th, does Regin even have a spot in Ottawa anymore?

As much as it pains me, there a less and less slots to fill. Even if he plays LW.

I honestly can't stand Regin as an NHLer at this point. This year he soured on me to the point where I actually don't think he makes The Sens out of camp next year, if they draft RNH or Strome, he doesn't even have a spot.

The fact a kid that has proven nothing came into camp not ready to play, then went into the regular season not ready to work, and then gets injured (not his fault) and can't finish off the season just leads me to believe he was a flash in the pan for about a week in April in 2010. Maybe he fits on one of the wings somewhere but even then nothing is guaranteed. Players are already breathing down Regin's neck, literally if he has a bad camp or in the regular season, ONE bad game, someone will be there to take his spot.

Also, just so I am clear on who will be breathing down Regin's neck, it will be Wick or if he comes over, Silfverberg.

Given his play relative to Butler, Condra, Greening, Smith -- he does not have a spot now. He needs to work out like a fiend, gain 5-10 lbs, upperbody strength, leg strength, core strength -- in short, everything -- and then come into camp and beat out the players mentioned above. With Alfie and Michalek back, plus a top-3 pick, there will be fewer spots in the lineup. And Regin won't be able to work out for 2-3 months, and no on-ice conditioning for even longer than that. Doesn't look good for Regin at all. The only "ace" up his sleeve is his one-way contract.

If Murray is coming back, then yes I want Clouston back. The guy should be given some credit for turning spezza into a more responsible leader. He not only helped develop Lee, but also Carkner

A one year extension is good, so long as Murray's extension is also only 1 year. Honestly, I don't think we're getting Mueller from Montreal, and Dave Cameron I don't want.

Solid point.

I'm still concerned about the apparent "not on the same page" situation between Clouston and Alfredsson, earlier in the season. What was that all about?

How could anyone have been on the same page? The team was a disaster.

Very true. Still, I actually expected better from The Captain. Even if you don't toe the company line, at least do it in private.

Maybe Clouston should give some of his players a Cussing chance to complete the hat trick on the empty net.

interesting point big ev. I don't know what to make of it though...on one hand yeah you wanna give the youngsters at something that is so rare to achieve, but on the other hand you have to do what you can to win the game, even if its meaningless in the standings. I can see this being a clouston looking out for himself rather than his players, but at the same time, is it really such a big deal in the locker room? What if a mistake IS made and it costs the sens the game...wouldn't that hurt the confidence some more?

I guess to Clouston its a high risk low reward scenario and as I said, he is looking out for himself as well. tough to judge it honestly. I know Brennan's all over him but every media personnel has been attacking clouston this season. He DID ensure a victory so can we slam him that much?

I think we should move forward with the rebuild and change the coach.

Clouston has done a lot of good things here no doubt.

Ultimately I think Anderson is making him look good just like he made Sacco look good last year.

Murray alluded to the fact that Clouston has trouble handling egos/vets when Kovalev was traded.

They should hire a couple of these guys and run a 'Win and you're in' system Smile
