My favourite pizza here in Kanata in Uncle Buck's. Milano's is pretty damn good too (great dipping sauce!).

San Marino, in Barrhaven, is the bomb. It's been sliding a bit lately, but still fantastic pie.

It's a different type of heat and flavour... Frank's is made from cayenne peppers... the "Rooster" sauce is made form chili peppers with vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. It all depends on your mood...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cayenne_pepper

The cayenne pepper—also known as the Guinea spice, Cow Horn Pepper, aleva or bird pepper[1] or, especially in its powdered form, red pepper—is a hot, red chili pepper used to flavor dishes...
Well, I guess they are "chili peppers" to some degree, but I don't think there is any cayenne in Sriracha.

I was just bugging you anyway. I'm not a big hot sauce fan in general but when I want some I use Sriracha because I like the flavour with the heat and my tongue doesn't burst into flames after.
Agreed, Sriracha can get you the heat without the burn...

This from the guy living in Pittsburgh. You often visit the Carp Pizza place?

How about Shawarma's?
I was always a Lorenzo's Pizza guy... or Colonnade Pizza when I was in Ottawa.

As for Shawarma... Marroush is where it's at.

Yeah when I worked downtown Marroush is what everyone swore by.

Really good stuff although you form a small lake of grease when you're done.

I need to find a new Pizza place to go, all the big names have turned me off lately, and that Gabriel's commercial is so annoying.

My wife's from California so she tends to laugh at most of the food in Ottawa, especially the Mexican stuff. However since she's Japanese we go for sushi a lot and it's pretty decent in places.

Greek food is really good here though, I keep forgetting to go to the Greek Festival in the summer.

Now that is a good time.

Taste of the Danforth here in Toronto is awesome. So much good food to be had on the street.

Damn good.

I am late to reply to my Shawarma post... but I have tried many in Ottawa... and I really can't complain about many of them. I don't tend to frequent downtown Ottawa when I return to visit, so I mostly go to Guava Shawarma or Shawarma Heaven in Barrhaven. I really like Guava - they have the Shawarma Salad, which depending on who makes it, can be quite good Razz I have had it numerous times and it's been different everytime which isn't really that good. The best is when you get the fried pita on it, and they also have a spicy Shawarma sauce which is awesome. If you are lucky to get both the spicy and the regular + the garlic + oil vinaigrette dressing you are going to love it.

I haven't tried many in the GTA/Peel, but the best yet is Vila Madina. Had it twice, once at Square One and the other time at Sherway Gardens, and the one from SQ1 was much better. They put what I believe were whole chili peppers in it... so hot.

Dash, I grew up in Brampton (went to Ching). We used to go to Carabram and get absolutely 5h!tfaced... good times.

2 Brampton Icons for me: The Italian place in Bramalea City Centre (not sure if it's still there) and Sonny's on Kennedy Rd.

Although I don't think it's Greek, I miss Kojaks at Bayshore Mall. They have a franchise out here called OPA! which is top notch though for Gyro wraps and Souvlaki. Yum!

If you are located in the east end near Blair Rd, check out Pineview Pizza. Great place. There is a new Greek restaurant that opened on Bank one block south of Nepean called Greek Souvlakia Shack. Excellent food.
