I don't think you will see many players slacking with close to 1/3 of the team being on ECL deals.

I assume he'll be paid close to 3.5 for argument's sake, and that's a lot of $$. I already love him, his confidence, his character, the way he directs the D, his stick-handling - everything, but it would be nice to know what the deal really was in Colorado.
Nobody outside of Colorado understands the Anderson trade because nobody realizes how unhappy he was with the coaching and his situation.
Avs were stuck. He turned down a generous offer earlier in the year, and that was that. He was never going to regain last year's form in CO.

The Goalie Guild talked about it a few days ago (not sure how much they know).

For a split-second I was, like "East Coast League?"
Did you mean two-way deals, actually? I don't think an ELC has to be two-way. I can definitely see players on two-way contracts playing their arses off (last-year-Lee notwithstanding).

2 year, 7.5 million total.

I think all ECL's are two way deals.

Thanks for that. I thought it was Sacco, but did that make Anderson suck the way he did?
Simply put, he didn’t seem happy at all being in this situation. I think he was unhappy with some of the coaching decisions, unhappy with the lack of support, and extremely frustrated with his own lack of success. It became a downward spiral of sorts, and a trade was made.

Rundblad is NHL ready, Cowen, maybe, maybe not.

I'd like to believe that. I unfortunately also believed that when Bryan Murray proclaimed Brian Lee was ready after the '07-'08 season.
