Porter is Toronto's airline, from Toronto Airport on the island. It's not a no name at all. They just do short trips.

Big Ev wrote:Porter? Is that like the No Name of airlines?

It's a pretty new Canadian airline that only has select destinations. It's largely used by businesses, but has really great service (free alcohol/meals). From Ottawa, they only have select destinations, like Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, St. John's, Moncton, and maybe Mont Tremblant. But going through Toronto/Montreal you can also go to New Jersey, Boston, Myrtle Beach, and recently Chicago.

Lots of businesses use it instead of Air Canada because it flies to Toronto city centre, which is the island airport. They will then take you for free on their shuttle to Union station downtown, which is like a 10 minute ride. Sure beats flying to Pearson where you have to get a $60 cab ride to get downtown. I also really like it cause it has more leg room. Although there is no in-flight entertainment.

They often have sales. There is one on right now for 30% off, if you book by February 23rd. Promo Code is Hockey30. Really solid airline, highly recommend it if people are flying... www.flyporter.com

No matter what the "O" means to Ottawa, it means something else to the rest of the league and fans in general.

rooneypoo wrote:The "O" insignia is such a bad decision, for reasons I've gone over at length in previous months. Given that we're a team with a reputation of being 'chokers' & currently sitting near the basement of the league, many people are going to read that "O" as the Ottawa Zeroes.

Diddle, I hate the marketing people in this organization. Just don't have clue when it comes to this stuff.

Yes, you're right, an O and a 0 don't look at all alike. Got to shake the cobwebs off this afternoon. My mind is playing tricks! I used to think Is and ls look a lot alike, too -- ditto for 5s and Ss -- but this conversation is clearing things up for me.

And you're right, you're not a sarcastic pretentious d0uchebag!

I didn't do anything wrong, I didn't call anyone a douchebag. Hey, if you're reading sarcasm, that's on you, not me. The words are right there. Laugh1

I think Bass was actually defending you there in that instance lol, maybe that is how I read it lol Dancing

Oh, I was just taking that for granted & responding in kind. The second response makes me less certain, tho'.

Actually, I wasn't referring to you at all, but it's cute that you'd think so.

First off, I just received a bunch of PMs, emails, telegraphs, and pigeon-delivered messages from my various fan-friends on the site to notify me of this post. I was in the middle of simultaneously writing the (not a, the) goaltending manual & memorizing the contents of the CBA when a pigeon landed on my shoulder with the message. Imagine my surprise & consternation.

On to your message: no, not you either. Razz

I think the things to take away from the thread are:

1) Os and 0s do in fact look somewhat alike;

2) the Sens marketing division is headed by a ring of ADD 6-years-old who just don't have a clue when it comes to imaging & name-branding; &

3) that the ironing is delicious.

Cool, so if that remark wasn't aimed at me (phew, by the way), then I don't feel at all conflicted to ask Hemlock to keep track of another count.

Oh, and since I said "xxx-know-who" and "his" my point is still valid.

You-Know-You is Tom Marvolo Riddle, or at least he was once called that. I can't say his real name or he'll find me & break all my enchantments. The Ministry is strong: it has been actively fomenting against me for 8 months now, minusing me in secret (when we had a rep system) and PMing members, flattering & fawning them in a greasy, weaselly, nauseating attempt to enlist them against me. Don't you read The Daily Prophet? If so, it's time you add the Quibbler to your reading list, too: Potter has had enough & is writing back.

Your normal condescending type post. But this one was very entertaining!

am sure it probably has been said before, and yeah, maybe who I am to interject since none of this has to do with me, but enough squabbling and back to talk about the Sens 3rd jersey design, otherwise, don't see much of a point to keep this thread going (and yes, am fully aware that a lot of times, I don't keep focused on thread topics either)

Again, Os do in fact look like 0s, and the Sens marketing crew doesn't know its head from DirtyDave's Donkey. I don't know if there's much more to talk about.

Personally, I find the whole "new 3rd jersey every 2 years" a despicable marketing ploy in and of itself, and would happily wave goodbye to it at the first opportunity. But it is a business, I suppose. I just wish we could do it right. Hire people with an actual background in PR, marketing, and design, because there's no way the fops we have now have any real training. The epitome of ineptitude.
