I agree, I don't associate the "O" with a zero. I'm not that insecure in my team that I will take offense to people saying it's a zero. Who's going to make fun of us? Leaf fans? Having a Leafs fan trash talk your team is like having a bum make fun of your house.

That ZERO will garner more negative attention for the franchise than just about any other symbol they could think to put on the front of a jersey. This isn't about insecurity, it's about making marketing decisions that make sense, and sadly, the Sens organization has failed again & again on this front.

Marketing can be subjective. I didn't think the SENS one was THAT bad (I bought one), and I like the new one (barberpole) a lot. I will definitely buy it. I think it's a GOOD decision.

Everything else was terrible, but I like this O jersey. It's just tradition. Also, a zero might be a good thing if people perceive it that way. It would motivate us to get back to repsectabilty, just like when Gilbert Arenas chose to wear 0 because his coach as a kid said he would have zero chance of making it in basketball.

I'll be part of the Sens marketing team one day and I'll set 'em straight.

if I was marketing for the Leafs, would make them all wear this jersey, which I am sure we all have seen before

another ottawa concept, again with the O, which I still think looks pretty sharp.

Will the new jersey come with a single-O logo in men's sizes and a multiple-O logo in women's sizes?

I don't see that as a zero - and if people do, they're reaching.

That said, the barberpole ones are FUGLY IMO.

I think it's one step up on The Spartan decision, and about on par with the SNES decision.

Marketing matters. Our organization has consistently failed on this front. This is just another example. One of my best friends runs a successful design company and he'll tell you the same on this. We've consistently made poor marketing decisions.

you should know that multiple O's for women don't exist, if you been told otherwise, they are faking lol on another note, if there are any graphic design people here, here is your chance to design a sens concept 3rd jersey.

Yes, you're right, an O and a 0 don't look at all alike. Got to shake the cobwebs off this afternoon. My mind is playing tricks! I used to think Is and ls look a lot alike, too -- ditto for 5s and Ss -- but this conversation is clearing things up for me.

Our image has been crap ever since we went to the Finals. During the same time, our team has been Dung. They should have never changed the design from our old white ones (they had to change because of the new EDGE jerseys, but they should have tried to keep the same design at least).

My world just collapsed. I had just reconciled myself to the utter lack of similitude in terms of shape between Os and 0s, and then I read this.

I'm experiencing alpha-numeric confusion.

You'll get no argument from me. I can't remember the last marketing decision (especially in terms of imaging & name-branding) we made that made me think, "great idea!"

Opposing players will too. I will get old very fast and wear on the players, until they will the Stanley Cup. It can go either way; an irritant or motivation. If it takes to long to win the Cup, irritation will set in permanently.

Meh, opposing players will see it and say "Ooooooooooooh Dung" when we score on them (in 3 years).

Haha. It won't be around that long anyway, so you are right, meh.

This is the kind I currently have (only have as well) with Spezza on it, like this compared to the new rbk edge ones.
