Just an all around smart game. Scored 2 goals, was noticable on every shift, clearly the best player on the ice IMO (better than Toffoli). Got my man crush on tonight basically.

He's the guy I can see as the player we take if we finish 4. I've rarely ever heard a bad thing said about him from people that have seen him play.

If they don't get Landeskog they draft Strome IMO. Doesn't matter if it's 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th.

I put him above RNH for sure and maybe Landeskog now. Also, like Marak said the kid is 8 months younger, that's pretty much 1 full year of development less than the others and that's a HUGE factor and that can't be ignored.

Wait 3 months and then we'll see. RNH is a better player IMO, and he is only 3 months older than Strome.

3rd season in The WHL vs 2nd in The OHL. That's a whole year of development. Basically ask yourself is RNH as good as Strome would be next year? I don't think he would and Strome brings more of package. It's about projection and I think Strome will project to be the better player. RNH might be better now as I find that hard to debate but Strome will end up being the better NHL player for a number of reasons IMO.

You don't draft on the best player NOW, you draft on who you believe will be the best player. That's BPA.

Yes, and I believe the BPA is RNH of Landeskog and Larsson are gone. Like marakh said, he has the most high-end potential in this draft.

See I disagree with that, I think it's Strome or is at least equal to what RNH brings. Everything else is in Strome's favour and I think he will be the better NHLer. BPA next year whether it's Jr. or NHL, Strome will be the better player, but again, IMO.

If they all hit their potential, RNH would be the best player IMO. He's about 10 lbs smaller give or take than Strome right now, about the same height. RNH already plays more physical and is better defensively from what I've seen. I really think he has Datsyuk potential. His only issue is he doesn't shoot as much, it's too bad because his one timer is deadly.
Anyways, it's close.

I think we have to prepare ourselves mentally for a #3 or #4 pick at best. Best case scenario, we're at #3 and one of Landeskog or Nugent-Hopkins is available; worst case, we're at #4 and both guys are gone, and we have to take the next best player.

And then we're talking about one of Strome, Couturier, or Huberdeau. Might be time to shift the grounds of debate. If there is even a debate to have, that is.

The thing is, I think every teams draft list in the 4 to 5 range is going to vary. I would be willing to be scouts from The East want Strome, scouts from The West want RNH. Landeskog is a player that will go to a team that needs a forward vs a team that needs a D man. Everything is so close it really doesn't matter but the fact Strome is really coming into his own and looking more and more like a potential number 1 center in The NHL some day makes Ottawa's job a lot easier.

I don't think you can go wrong with either player but I always go for the guy with a bit more size and has more of an ability to put the puck in the net. I think goal scorers tend to adapt to The NHL a lot easier and find a way to become better players. It's harder to respect a player like RNH in the offesive zone in The NHL because he always looks pass.

Either way, I think Strome is number 1 on the list of forwards for me now or at least on par with Landeskog.

I said the same thing yesterday in the GDT. I want to start learning as much as possible about those three guys.

Florida is going to be tough to catch too it seems. I think people can safely assume Ottawa will be drafting no lower than 3rd baring being bumped.

Alright, I guess Colorado is officially 2nd...
FLA is seconds away from winning, ISlanders Jersey 3 pt game and ATL Philly 3 pt game too. I can live with that.
