If the clear cut BPA is a d-man, can we really afford to pass him up? If we draft RNH/Landeskog with the first pick, I would probably be ok with a d-man with Nashvilles pick provided he was easily the best player available. We've also got 3 2nds to nab forwards with.

Seriously, if a guy like Hamilton somehow fell to NAshville's pick, how dumb would it be not to pick him? Talk about a guy that would have all the time in the world to develop to his full potential.

I can honestly see a scenario where Murray trades down a few times to grab Prince. I think that kid will be the steal of the draft. He makes Toffoli go, not the other way around. People think LA has a steal in the 2nd round there, I don't, I think who ever nabs Prince will get the steal. IMO that would be the perfect mid round pick for The Sens.

The only knock against Hamilton (in our situation) is that he plays the right side (where it looks like Karlsson, Rundbland and Wiercioch might be the future) although if he (being Dougie) slips out of the top-ten this is a guy that may be worth it. He's like a more physical Jay Bouwmeester which would certainly be a nice piece if developed properly.

Can't agree about Prince though, I really think the 67's are a team built on the depth of a bunch of mid-level guys (including both of Prince's linemates) and I'm scared away by smaller guys without top end speed. Time will tell, but he isn't a guy I would grab in the first round to be honest.

I don't think he was suggesting picking him in the first round or I could be wrong. It's not worded too well but I think he meant round 2 since he was just talking about the 2nd round before he says Prince would be a steal.

I ment the Nashville's first rounder yah, if they feel he's a guy that's better than what's avaialble and a guy they like, I said they would trade down to grab him. Either way, Stemp might be right about the scenario and situation he plays in, could be a Cory Locke type player but I still think he is a skilled center that could be a steal. I see the other side of it though.

You could trade down to round two depending what you get in the deal. Wink

Touche. Anyways, I predicted this kind of stuff last year and I was totally out to lunch. Never saw the trade for Rundblad coming, extremely happy it did though!

I'm sure The Sens have their list of guys they want so who knows.

With all the picks they have it's definitely feasible that they trade some combination of them in order to get a forward prospect or more than one.

That Nashville pick is the one I am super interested in, in the sense they can very easily move up or down as a player they want may very well be available early on or later on. Again, a ton of things happen at the draft that come out of left feild so.

speaking of tank nation, dallas won in OT last night over LA. Loving the 3 point games!

As of now, Nashville sits 11th overall in the standings (tied at 75 pts with minnesota and anaheim, 2 points behind 8th seed LA) with 16 games left to go.

This week's games for NSH: tonight @ San Jose, Thursday vs Minny, Saturday vs Colorado

Don't count on Nashville to finish out of the playoffs. Mighty Mike Fisher will carry this team on his back like he did with Ottawa.

EDIT: It also depends on what the scouts see and want as well. They could very well hate a guy like Huberdeau and pass on him if he fell to 12th kind of thing.

Still doubt Couturier falls that much, but I must say, there's a real opportunity for Ottawa here. If the Nashville pick is in the 12 range, moving into the top 8 might be possible if we forfeit the 2nd rounder. Hamilton is a mover right now, he could force one of the forwards down.

Larsson
RNH
Landeskog
Couturier
Murphy
Strome
Siemens
Hamilton
Huberdeau Sens move up and take him?

Could happen! In fact, might as well move up in any case for one of those thumping D-men or Saad if Huberdeau/Strome is gone.

Barry Trotz finds a way usually, but two seasons ago they did miss the playoffs. and what a colossal failure this mike fisher deal would have been if they miss the playoffs. They really brought him in for this season but for whatever reason, the team just isn't playing well. Its going to be difficult, they got a very tough schedule coming up. why next week, they play boston, detroit, and LA...all at home though.

Colorado beating Nashville would basically gaurentee a lot for The Sens picks. One, Colorado doesn't finish below Ottawa and that Nashville finishes outside of the playoffs.

honestly, not holding my breath for that game. Would be sweet, but the avalanche might be playing the worst hockey in the league right now. That should be an easy two points for NSH. However, I really hope they get no luck with the other two games, especially with minnesota

I won't say anything about the Mike Fisher trade (4 points in 11 games for Nashville), but there were definitely indicators there that Nashville should have seen. It's not like he had a good season here - the opposite, he was rubbish. But hey...that was their only move at the deadline, so they have to live with it now.

From their perspective though, he fits right in with that lunch pail crew, and the fact that he's married to Carrie Underwood is certainly a PR dream.

Yup, The Fish certainly brings "intangibles" wherever he goes. You might recall in Ottawa it was "goodness in the community."
