Travis Yost, as far as I know, is just a regular guy like us. Not sure what the qualifications are for having a blog on Hockeybuzz (living with the shame?), but he is just another Joe-Blow Blogger as far as I'm concerned.

I still read his blog occasionally, he is a half-decent writer.

Anyway, back on-topic, everything points towards a blowout tonight...which is probably why the Sens will win. We beat Pittsburgh on Boxing Day when there was no reason for that to happen.

Travis Yost is about as credible as Sens Chirp Laugh1

Eerie stat of the day:

http://www.senatorsextra.com/main/stat-of-the-day/

"If the Senators suffer a regulation loss to Philadelphia Thursday, their record will be 17-24-7.

Why is that significant? It’s exactly the record former Senators head coach Craig Hartsburg had with the Senators before being fired and replaced by Clouston two years ago. It’s eerie and could leave Clouston with an even more uneasy feeling about his job security on the flight home from Philadelphia late Thursday. Win or lose, however, the Senators won’t have much time to dwell on the result. They’re back in action again Friday at Scotiabank Place against Montreal."

Let's see what he hears/reports by the deadline and in the off-season. IMO he's still got connections, but things in Ottawa have been hazy to say the least.

all he's going to report is what we would have already known. I've been very disappointed in chirp this season, especially since I was one of his early supporters. He seems to have gotten lazier and just reposts crap from twitter and other articles. and I have a hard time believing any rumors he does conjure up since NOTHING comes to fruition in ottawa, so he's got no way to win.

Fair enough, it's all about tweeting anyway.

Speaking of which:

#Sens will sit Peter Regin for 2nd-straight game. It's 11 forwards and 7 D, again. No changes.

No changes again... wow. Regin sits 2nd game in a row. Elliott goes for 10th loss in a row.

Regin should sit 5 minimum, he needs to build up some competitive fire.

And considering the team had, arguably, one of the best 60+ min efforts that we've seen all season, no real surprise that Clouston sticks with it.

Flyers scratches vs. Sens: Laperriere (post-concussion syndrome); Bartulis, Walker and Carcillo (healthy)
