Don't mind sitting Carkner out this one, he was consistently beaten wide against the Stars.

Plus 1 - Totally agree here. Carkner needs to sit. Campoli probably should sit too but no way does Lee get back in so there it is.

Karlsson in and Carkner out and Leclaire as starter has been put into latest updates on the first post.

Let's go guys, as Cash said yesterday, this is still a team that cares, we know they do - now they have to execute.

At any rate, as pissed as I might get, I'll always support the 20 guys who suit up for the Sens.

Go Sens!!! Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh! Sad

Not just against the Stars - still love Carkner, but this is a decent choice today.

I disagree. I think a strong showing is all that's needed. Another uninspired effort may lead to a "shake up" though. I don't think you can expect them to absolutely win this one with the streak Pittsburgh is on along with Fleury and Crosby playing lights out.

A win would be huge but probably not realistic at this point. Of course I could be totally wrong and the Sens whoop the Pens as has happened over the past 5 or 6 games with each team alternating lopsided victories.

I hate this decision. We're going to get pushed around like a bunch of little Wing Dang Doodle in our own end today. To say nothing of what our PK is going to look like now. Just imagine if one of Phillips / Kuba / Gonchar ends up in the box? PK unit #2 = Hale + Campoli? Yikes.

Hale can play Carkner's roll for a game or two and add offense. I think Carkner played his way into the press box and I'm fine with it.

Agreed. I think Carkner's been awful lately.

First, I don't think Carkner has been as awful as some others (add 1, drop the zero). Even so, I would much rather drop 14 than 4for this particular match, and the same reasoning applies w.r.t. Carkner. Campoli has been doing nothing on offense, and that's his only contribution against a team like the Penguins. Plus that puts two of our three right-shooting D-men in the pressbox.

Prove me wrong, Chris.

I am guessing here but I think it may have to do with foot speed. Carkner is slow and with a speedy team like the Pens it could get ugly. At least Campoli has speed?

Time for Leclaire to really step up to the plate and knock it out of the park (which would be quite simple if it were the pirates playing). Hope he can stand tall like he did in game 5

I don't think they scratch Campoli anytime soon, maybe because they're trying to showcase him? I don't know how much it affects trades, but wouldn't benching as a result of on-ice play automatically reduce the trade value?

I'd bet that Carkner comes back in tomorrow vs. Toronto.

If Fisher needs a rest, they could move Carkner to 4th line forward duties, and shift things around a little.
