Careful - you are close to arguing that the 1st overall pick and any pick thereafter are all equal in terms of talent and regardless of the round you are picked in, an organization can make you as good as the #1 overall pick.

There may be a few cases where that has happened, but if you are seriously going to argue that Zibanejad and RNH are equal in talent, that's crazy. There's a reason players are rated higher than others, and there's a reason why pretty much everyone here was hoping the Sens would draft RNH, Landeskog, Huberdeau and Couturier. Zibanejad wasn't even mentioned (except by me and Ev apparently).

Oh, and who are the losers in Edmonton?

Not saying they are right now or they ever will be but it's possible that it does happen down the line. I don't think he has the tools RNH has in terms of his vision or hockey sense but talk to me in 10 years and see where both guys are. Right now RNH is the best from that draft and it's a run away.

I was not one of the people that wanted Couturier and still don't. A good organization can develop guys that are raw, RNH wasn't raw, he was small. We'll see how he progresses if Edmonton keeps losing.

Kevin Lowe is about the biggest loser GM exec in hockey.

Landeskog is arguably the best player from the draft and his team made some moves to improve unlike the Oilers who sit there doing nothing.

I think RNH, as it stands is miles ahead. That said I could see it changing with the way both organizations are headed. Colorado needs to trim some fat up top as well though.

Landeskog is going to win the rookie of the year and he was the Avs best player the entire season for the most part. Dynamic player who is built like a 30 year old. Clutch, nasty, skilled, excellent skater. RNH is the better passer but both different players.

Don't disagree but RNH probably hits a PPG or close to it if he plays the entire year.

Anyways, point is teams develop players and I will take Detroit's 1st round pick over NYI's no matter where they are picking short of the top 3.

Coke Zero did their own version of the Budweiser commercial where they turned a beer league game into a pro hockey like experience. This time, Coke used the Leafs as the gimmick.

It's pretty cool and I can imagine how exciting it would be to have that experience. Imagine going to a rec. league adult hockey game at the Sensplex and going into the lockerroom and finding yours and your teammates name' on a Sens jersey and then having Alfie, Spezza, Karlsson and Phillips coach your teams, with Dean and Gord calling the game and Lyndon Slewidge performing the anthem, while a packed crowd cheers you guys own.

And to think Ottawa gets accused of obsessing over the Leafs.

Apparently they announced when the Sens were eliminated over the PA at Pearson. Classy. And I thought they always accused Ottawa fans of being preoccupied with the Leafs.

They are clearly obsessed with the Sens... and jealous... that is pretty unbelievable.

Such a sad franchise now... joke of a hockey team... no future... ship totally out of control... failure of a GM...

I'd prefer Lyndon stayed home, actually. I've been growing increasingly dissatisfied with his over-performances, lately.

That's the typical response, and I wonder if Sens haters also say the same thing when they hear "Sens sign Winchester", "Sens sign Butler", or "Sens sign DaCosta".
