Maybe, I have no idea what does he want. What I'm saying is, paying Richards 7-ish million is not the end of the world.
I mean, Pitts pay Crosby and Malkin 8.7 each, their goalie costs 5, and they have 4 defensemen making 16+M.

While I don't think that had anything to do with it (yes, I know it's a joke), I was actually thinking about that this morning. First, it's a bit crude, second, it's really offensive as it's trying to paint Spezza in a negative light (unable to play through an injury) by comparing him to a woman.

Not necessary. Not, really, all that funny, either (maybe I would have laughed at it in high school but, then again, back then I thought Bachelor Party was the funniest movie ever).

I think we can do better than that. Well, I'd like to think so.

Someone else made the joke in a previous thread (the last GDT, I think). It seemed most appropriate to carry it on.

On the subject of 'doing better': I challenge everyone here to do better than the "Oh, it's 8 games into the year, we're done, we're awful, trade everyone and everything, I want everyone else's players, all our guys suck, let's tank!" garbage I've been reading here for the last week or two.

I really don't care who brought it up first and I'm not hereto stir up anything -- please recognize the fact that I never mentioned you or anyone directly. I just thought the use of that term, in this particular circumstance, was derogatory and offensive to some. That's all.

I once used the term "oriental" instead of the more acceptable "asian" to describe the appearance of a baby shown in an episode of Lost (this was on another forum). Someone jumped down my throat saying "oriental is a rug" and how what I said was offensive. I had no intention to offend, but I have not used that term since then. I still don't know what the big deal is or was, but it offended at least one person and it's no skin off my nose to use a different term.

I have no problem with saying Spezza has a sore vag. He probably has a sore back from carrying his purse around too.

No, this is not directed at RP. When Shabbs originally wrote it I thought it was just a typo (never made the connection to "vagina" -- I thought he was going for "sore bag" -- which, although still crude, is not offensive). I clued-in when it was spelled out in the GDT.

I "slept on it" and still felt the same this morning, so when Clutch brought it up I spoke out.

Whatever your nose is smelling, it's not my pettiness.
