On team 1200, they just said expect Ohlund to get moved soon, but I'm not willing to give Vermette for Ohlund.
What about Nikulin plus McAmmond?
For Ohlund or Bieksa, I would drive McAmmond and Nikulin to Van City. I am fairly sure they won't do that. Mac is basically a spare part and Nikulin is proving that he is not much of a prospect. It would take Vermette or a package like O'Brien and Schubert, unless they get really desparate. BTW for Bieksa I would do it.
My thinking is that Nikulin is hungry to play in the NHL, and Vancouver is short on skilled forwards (their #2 RW is Wellwood - what does that say?). Put Nikulin on RW with the Sedins, and he may flourish (and it may kick him into gear such that he understands what commitment is required). Mac is a speedy 3rd/4th liner who is willing to do what it takes for the team. Again, on Vancouver, maybe he can play other roles as well, as they don't have much. Maybe we throw in a second as well (2010, not 2009) or toss in Henessy (I just can't see him making it on the Senators, but maybe on a weaker team)
They need to dump defense, and they are looking to move Ohlund, though realistically, they should be moving Salo (but where?). Their only other offer (from what is out there) is for Kessler, which I can't imagine they will entertain, without spare parts or picks in addition to Savard, since it doesn't serve to improve them.
Perhaps your suggestion of Bieksa is better - they get cap room (not needed now, but later).
In my eyes, it improves both teams immediately (although we end up with too many D now) and long-term. Isn't that the goal?
