Regin's contract will very likely be 1-2 years, 3 tops, and probably $1.5-2M @ 1-2 years, or $3-3.5 @ 3yrs.

Speaking out loud here, I think Lee is from Minnesota, and played college hockey in Minnesota? There could be some interest to get a young local guy in the lineup. I'm personally not familiar with a lot of the players in the this year's draft, but it's evident that we need to draft a good impact forward. That being said, is Mike Hoffman actually good or are his numbers grossly inflated?

Nooooooooo chance in hell Regin signs a 3 mil, multi year deal, zero. He has had 1 good 1/2 year in The NHL, that's it.

Pretty much, if Murray has some forsight, a 2.2 mil deal for 4-6 years miiiiight happen, similar to Zettiberg's 2nd contract.

Regin gets 3 million when Elliott gets 3.

a 4 to 6 year deal could deffinitely be advantageous for us. counting that wasn't a fluke performance. which i doubt it would was.

6 years @ 2.5 million per year and I'm 100% okay with that. 15 million dollars for your 2nd contract is fine and dandy.

I was just saying that it would be more around the $3M mark if it is long term. You rarely see many 3+ year contracts where the figure is under $3M. Burrows is underpaid for what he does.

I personally think it's +/-$1.5M/per for 2 years.

Yeah, that is a sweet contract. Very rare though because these players now want to capitalize on their pay day and they cannot do that when they lock in for long term.

There's always the debate about security and all that, but I think young players would rather take that risk.

No way they offer him 3 mil at this point. Even on a 3 year contract, there's just no way. No offense Dash, but that's laughable.

You're missing the point though - if it's a long term deal it has to be around that range otherwise the player will not get locked down.
