Leafs tried to get Schneider and Ryan

Why would they want these guys and give up picks for them, just to turn Schneider over for a pick?? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. They have Dung for brains over there.

They wanted Ryan badly and Schneider would have had to come along in order to make a deal.

Especially if it had been the 6th overall this year. That's a superstar player in the mold of a Shenn. No questions.

Hah. Why would they trade McCabe and his 5.75 million only to bring in Schneider and his 5.625 million? Bobby Ryan by all acounts thus far has been a bust. Especially given the fact that he was a number 2 overall pick.

The article says had they made the deal, they would have flipped Schneider for a pick. So really they wanted Ryan and were willing to take Schneider off Anaheim's hands, since Toronto has the room.

Too bad for Leafs the deal didn't go through. And even if Schneider couldn't be dealt by them right away, if he played well he could have been a deadline deal.
