This is a seismic shocker. What happens in Washington? Semin gone for a big D-man? Who knows...One thing's for certain, Joe Corvo was NOT what they needed, they needed Andy Sutton.

Oh ya, Corvo played. Anyways, they didnt need Sutton, how would have have made a difference? Washington couldnt score and that's the last thing I thought I would be saying right now.

Hopefully they are desperate enough to deal for A Train's rights for a 2nd or 3rd or something.

Their D was all scrambled and loose, it was so open, then could have used a dude who just followed the play and laid the occasional massive hit, but that's not really Boudreau's style I guess.

Mind you, it's an interesting point. Washington lost because they couldn't score, does this change their mind on Volchenkov, or is seeing what the Habs - and Hal Gill in particular did enough to make them want him more?

Dont think you are getting a 1st rounder for him in all honesty. A 2nd is pushing it but probably obtainable.

Has to be the coach and no shot it changes their mind on A Train. They have nothing resembling a defensive D man and probably someone they will have paired with Green. That will ruin A Train's career if it actually happens. Maybe he gets paird with Alzner as a shut down duo.

100%. TSN zoomed in on him after the game, he was just gazing at nothing in particular, you could tell he knew. Wouldn't surprise me if they shopped Semin also ....

They just ran into Jaroslav Halak...but I think Semin is traded and I also think they might try to sign Kovalchuk somehow.
