I'll give SJ the obligatory 2 games. Detroit in 6.

That Wings are going to destroy the Sharks. This Dung isn't even gonna be close unless Howard self-destructs out of the blue.

I'm saying every CSF goes 7 games and I would watch out for Boston with the upset. I really think they have the look of a contender right now. I'm also nowhere near convinced that Pittsburgh is as good as the Sens made them look in games 3 and 4...

Last year I picked the Ducks to upset the Sharks in Round 1, and that was correct. This year, though, I think the Sharks are a much better team and have what it takes to at least get to the Conference Finals. Detroit is being overrated a little bit right now.

I don't expect Miroslav Satan and Michael Ryder to carry the load offensively for the Bruins again, lol.

Good thing they have Marc Savard, Milan Lucic, Mark Recchi, David Krecji, Chara et al to fall back on All Playoff talk all the time. - Page 25 Icon_wink

I'm not bankin on Savard doing much either...he's probably been rushed back. Boston could beat Philly, but I don't think they would beat Pittsburgh.

If Pitts plays Boston not only will that be a tough series for Pitts to win, they are in for a hell of a battle because Boston has a ton of motivation after what happend to Savard.

The Sens beat Pitts up pretty good, not sure how much they can take from Boston since they just came out of a series where there was very little physicality IMO. I can honestly see Pitts getting bounced and I pray they do. Sens would also move up a spot in the draft.

I'll take Pitt in 5. I'd go with 4 but nobody seems to sweep anymore. Pittsburgh is the best team in the East, I said it before the playoffs and I still belive it.

The Penguins are no strangers to hitting. I don't have the stats but I think they were one of the better hitting teams.

If they play eachother I think it would be Penguins in 6..not short series, but I think in the end they get it done. I don't see anybody beating Pittsburgh in the East if Montreal wins tonight. Well, I don't think the Caps would beat them either. They very well could be on the verge of a dynasty.

With that being said, Pittsburgh is playing Montreal next round with Boston playing Philly All Playoff talk all the time. - Page 25 54934

^^ Pens were 3rd in hits during the reg season.

I don't disagree with that take, but I don't agree with Robby (which is kind of an anomaly). I would never take PIT in 4 over BOS and I would be hard pressed to take them in 5 or 6. I still think each series has definite potential to go 7 and this one, in particular, Imo would need 7 for the Pens to take it.

I think you're right about that. I don't think they're rushing him back but I dont' think he's mentally prepared to be back, especially in the playoffs when it's way more rough and tumble. I think he's going to be playing to not get hurt again more than anything. It really sounds like his latest concussion has done a number on him mentally. Only time will tell though.

Oh man, I forgot it was Cooke that hit him. Eesh, if they play each other Crosby and Malkin and co. should definitely keep their heads up. This could be a series where we actually see a big star go down for the count.

I wonder how many game 7's there will be this playoffs. It seems that there have already been more than all of last years playoffs.

How many were there last year? 4 in total?

This year already 2 in the 1st round. It'll be interesting to see.

Malkin will make Spezza look like super man in this series. IMO, he becomes completly invisable except while on the PP. Crosby is going to have to carry this team again, but if there is a defense and goaltender in The East that can shut down The Pens, it's Boston.

Boston's offensive problems might be lessened with Flurry in nets as well. They just beat the best goaltender in the league this year, solving Flurry wont be a problem.

I honestly think if they play, Boston wins.
