First, what a nice 900K cap hit this kid is.

Second, according to Murray on the Team, he IS eligible to play in the playoffs. Sens sign UNH senior Bobby Butler - Page 7 105237

Hmmm not sure how thats possible.....but I won't complain - it'd be Dung for him, because IF Ottawa somehow managed to win the cup - thats a gigantic IF - Bobby Butler wouldn't get his name onthe cup because he didn't play 26 (I think thats the cut-off) regular season games.

I think all you have to do is play in the playoffs. Can't recall the number of games though.

I believe you need to play in one game per series, and/or one finals game to get your name on the Cup.

That makes no sense. Why would he be eligible when Winchester wasn't? How are the two situations different?

Unless they changed it recently, there was a setnumber you had to play to be on the cup, I don't remember who but when Carolina won, they were talking about a player (i can't remember who) would have to meet with the league to get his name on the cup because he hadn't played enough regular games.

900k is good, and we re-sign him just when Kovalev's contract expires.

No idea. Sometimes I actually wonder if Murray talks out of his arse for fun.

as far as I remember, all you need to do is dress one game in the SCF to be allowed to put your name on the cup.
