I'm a little confused by the statement in bold. CC says Michalek is hoping rehab will allow him to avoid surgery but goes onto say that the worst case is we lose Michalek for the regular season. Isn't worst case that he requires surgery in 2 weeks which would put him out for a good chunk if not all of the playoffs?? Is that not the actual worst case scenario?Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek will be out of the lineup for at least two weeks, after suffering a left knee injury last Thursday in Atlanta.
Head coach Cory Clouston said "he is hopeful that rehab in the next two weeks will help Michalek avoid surgery that would sideline him for an extended period of time."
The head coach admitted that the "worst case scenario" would see Michalek miss the rest of the regular season.
Michalek is tied with Mike Fisher for the team lead in goals with 22.
2 weeks from today is the 6th of April that would mean best case scenario is that Michalek returns that night and he'll return for the last 3 games, but the games on the 6th and 8th of April are in Florida, so I'll assume he's at home in Ottawa rehabbing and then has the evaluation here. Assuming I'm right then he joins his team mates in Tampa on the 8th and is out all but the last 2 games...
So rehabbing for 2 weeks takes him out for the rest of the regular season..basically.
I agree. That's what is confusing about CC's statement. His worst case scenario is actually pretty much the best case scenario. Our worst case sees Michalek out until the summer.
