Interesting contract. I don't mind this as long as he doesn't play big minutes.

I suspect its a player-coach thing, with more of a coach role.

Meh. It's a two-way deal, and so not much of a big deal. I think it's insurance in case of injury, or in the off chance that Lee struggles.

This makes me wonder if someone is going to moved if Richardson makes the team. Does Lee get sent to the minors and Schubert plays the wing? OR does Schubert get packaged with one of our aboundance of forwards and a pick for another quality D-man or top six. HMMMMM

Picard was excellent tonight. Another nail in Schubert's coffin?

I'm still not against trading him, McAmmond and Neil. Yes, I said it, Neil. We'd probably get more of a return than ever right now. If we could move Schubert, Neil, Vermette and one of our first round picks to Florida for Bouwmeester, I would be SOOOOO happy.

No way Lee and Picard aren't playing with the Sens (O-Sens) this season.

I don't think I'd do that trade believe it or not. We'd open up holes everywhere there. One in the top 6, one on the 3rd line and one on the 4th line, not to mention the first round pick. Too much. Just get a stop-gap at some point and we'll gun for Bow next summer.

Yeah, that trade is only worth doing if you can get Bouwmeester under a long term contract. That's too much to give up for a one-year rental, particularly since from what I've seen so far, we don't have the goaltending or second line scoring to take us to the Finals.

But if you could ink Bouwmeester to a long term deal, that's a trade I'd make in a heartbeat. I would hate to give up Neil (heart and soul of the team, and he seems to have re-found his groove) and that first rounder, but you have to give in order to get. But again, only if you can sign Bouwmeester to something long term.

Would we still have holes that need filling on the team? Of course. No scoring from the 2nd line, and a Cup-ready goaltender. But we'd have enough to make this season interesting....

Bouwmeester has been in the playoffs once during his junior/professional career - he's a great d-man - but I think he is terribly overrated.

And Richardson better not play 1 nhl game this year - enough already.

Way to much to give up. Now if Mathias was thrown in then I'd have to think about it.

Can somebody tell me why we kept Luke, but sent Bell down?

I like Richardson, and he's a really nice guy, and everything, but was he really better than Bell? Wouldn't we be better off keeping Richardson as a "coach-advisor", and actually playing Bell?

I hate to say this, but I actually agree with K.Lee on this one...

Man, this is definitely enough with Richardson... He's done.. With all the guys we have we don't need another... If it's just a depth move than fine.. but come on, we've got better guys than this!
